Interesting.
In certain economically deprived sections of society, religion is a minor issue which is often compromised.
They switch religion if it is economically worthwhile.
Even after this change of religion, they marry persons of same clan/caste overlooking religion preferances and girls convert to husbands religion .
Of course higher caste hindus can get outraged.
Temples require money and many upper castes are not generous in contribution.
If temples have to be maintained well some commercial actions might hurt the sentiments of upper caste.

First of all, it is not a temple, in fact it is a temple owned ‘commercial property’. In other words, this marriage hall is governed by the temple.
And it is reported that the couple who got married were SC (Dalit) Hindus and the name of ‘Charles’ seems to be grooms ‘pet-name’.
The objection from the devotees may be for use of loud speakers placed at the marriage hall which could have been quite disturbing the devotees who visit to temple to pray with a peaceful mind.
There is no need to drag upper caste here unnecessarily….
Regarding 'Upper castes are not generous in contribution' is nothing but an unfounded allegation.

Out here in Msia....marriage hall that belongs to temples..even if it outside of temple complex..Non Veg and Alcohol is not allowed.

Again it is not a temple and it is a temple owned commercial property. And the authorities in charge of the temple may be only acting as per the rules.
And if at all anybody has any grievance, they are free to contact the authorities concerned and represent.
And those who are voicing their concern here are also free to contact the Mylapore MLA who is also a Brahmin, I hope and a retired Officer of the rank of Director General of Police or the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Dept for stern action against the concerned.
For initiating action, one needs to file a complaint. When it comes to filing a complaint in writing, nobody will come forward. The ultimate statement may be that it is only hearsay or an allegation.
This may be a news of misrepresentation. While the caption says it is Christian marriage the Executive Officer reported that[FONT="] [/FONT][FONT="]the couple who got married were SC (Dalit) Hindus and even though the groom’s name was indeed displayed as ‘Charles’, his real name was ‘Yuvraj’ with ‘Charles’ being his pet-name.

This is what the HR&CE Officer has to say which includes the rule:
When the rules permit that it can be used by Non-Hindus, there is no question of arguing about wine and non-veg food.
Who is to be blamed now.....??
Is it the Government ...............or the existing Rules........... or the public who voted for such a Govt................or the staff who is very strictly enforcing such rules.

They know how to build temple and also a marriage hall adjacent.
And allow it to run by the Government with Rules... and some of such rules may go against their interest.

Why are we thought tolerance, tolerance should be allowing other religions to practice their faith freely, but unfortunately people are using as an opportunity to humiliate Hindus. & religion.
I think the problem is that we are not about our religion & culture, if we were ,we would not have the likes of the Dravidian movements take our culture through the mud.
So the first it is important that we teach our community to be proud of our culture & heritage.

During the past sixty plus years after Independence, we have been voting for one or the other every time and what have they done for protection of Hindu culture?
Yogi Adityanath is not a magician to transform everything in no time.
Leave alone Ayodhya, we have umpteen number of temples to visit and pray.
I just remember the movie PK and the interest exhibited by the members to protect our Hindu culture here....LOL

How many untold atrocities have been committed in the name of religion? Has religious government ever contributed to the upliftment of common public? Even in Rama Rajya there was poverty.
Religion is a personal experience and contributes to individual's growth. But group religion or state religion is a mob rule.

People of UP are learning to become vegetarian as slaughter houses have been shut down. Govt order to shut down was only for unlicensed ones.

You are talking about U.P which is one among the 29 States of India.
Let us talk about the whole India…..why go for a small area….?
Do you have any knowledge about Communal Violence Bill proposed by the UPA Government during its tenure at the Centre?
This Bill is meant to give protection to the minority….!!
Now who are minority?
Since almost in every State of India, Hindus are majority no Hindu from Delhi to Tamil Nadu can be protected by this law.
And only in Jammu & Kashmir Hindus are in minority…….. that means one may presume that Hindus can be protected there since they are minority….. but the reality is, if I am right, Hindus are not protected even here at Jammu Kashmir becos they are minority. Why….?
Because Clause 1 of the Bill says that Jammu & Kashmir is excluded from this Communal Violence Bill ……..in other words, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, there is no protection to Hindus……….
This is the ground reality….
And if you want to know the present status of this Bill and the reasons, etc please go to Google and find out yourself.
Those who have seen communal violence only on paper and have no direct experience can only talk and not feel.
I have lived thru the aftermath of indian partition with my home veranda occupied by refugees from pakistan.
I have seen 1984 riots with burning neighbourhood.
I have given shelter to a sikh school kid in my home trying to escape riots in anniversary of 1984 riots.
My child was born during curfew in aftermath of riots and I had to make do with curfew passes to rush to hospital.
I can still see some scars of anti minority riots in areas where I live.
Many have locked their houses for good and shifted to other states.
Most have barricades to protect their homes.
These collective experiences make me think how inhuman people can be towards fellow human beings citing religion as the excuse for such behaviour.
Extremism of any sort with religion as the reason does not help anyone.

Yes, most preach but only few follow.
The fact remains that in Tamil Nadu alone nearly 12 Hindus belonging to a particular group, some murdered in day light ruthlessly and few injured seriously.
Think about the families of these Hindus....
If you want me to furnish the riots that went against Hindus ...I am here to list out....

As for persecution of Hindus by conversions, desecrations, destructions, etc one can write an essay consisting several pages.
Can anyone forget the 'Ethnic cleansing of Kashmir Pandits......?
There are few who go by Swami VIvekanada's saying, “Garv se kaho hum Hindu Hain”. This will reverberate in the hearts of its citizens.
Anyway, it is for the public to exercise their judgement...
And we are seeing the postive results now.
Others have no other option except to come here and grumble...

Bodies have religion, Atma on its own is neither Hindu or Muslim.
Every life is valuable, and yes every constitution carves out some basic rights.
There should be one law in the constitution without religious distinction. Is Indian constitution perfect? Not by a mile. It can always be modified.
Why is it that we Hindus (with so much majority) can only cry and grumble. What Swani Vivekananda said was under British (read Christain) regime. Now it is BJP raj, it is not valid. Just as shouting "inquilab Zindabad" in independence day parade shows the ignorance. Context is important than the slogans.
We are not fighting against the government, as we are the government.
Swami Vivekanada did more than write in some web sites. If we want to follow him, follow his actions.
