I feel we love other cos we want their reciprocation in some way or the other.

Unconditional love does not exist. We love anyone or everyone purely to make ourselves feel better.

Yesterday I had gone to a place where everyone seemed too good and too polite..after a while I felt totally uneasy cos when everyone is being too good we are also forced to 'fake' being very good!LOL

So how long can we put up this facade?

I personally feel the ideal human being is neither a saint nor a sinner..he/she is never really good nor really bad. He/She would be totally impossible to define.

Being Human is just being born a Human Being.

Keeping Humanity is a facade..the truth is no one can make a difference..we only cheat ourselves.

Please Do not be so cynical.

even if we cheat ourselves , we could believe that we can make a difference.

Never know when another person is undecided on a course of action to follow, the right word or action can help him make up his mind.

Many are not capable of making right decisions and implementing them.we can help in decision making

In the process if we feel better -that is an unintended outcome. No one helps to feel better oneself alone

Dear Krish ji,

I do extend my help to others but deep down inside I would not like to imagine that I am totally selfless and make any difference.I dont want to be delusional.

If we ask ourselves why we help another person..the answer is simple..cos we are addicted to feeling good.

Its the same with love..we love someone cos he/she makes us feel good..when he/she stops making us feel good we move on to greener pastures!LOL

Life is all about continuation of "Self"..even having progeny is for continuation of genetic blue print becos we believe we exist in that genetic material.

Its not being cynical..Santa Claus does not exist!

Dear R
Every action such as helping, loving etc is not with the objective of making ourself feel good. this could be only be a by product.and often not the main reason for

helping /loving.

If we felt bad also while helping or we even pretend to love we would go ahead with it many times as a matter of duty and it is the rational thing to do.brains takes precedence over emotions

We would not consider whether we will feel good helping/loving.

dear Krish ji,

Outwardly it always seems that way..that we might be helping another person purely for the other person and not ourselves but if we really question ourselves we will know the truth.

For example..I do not like to see people suffering and dying and I would surely help alleviate suffering whenever its possible.

What is the real reason for this? Its becos of my innate nature of not being able to feel happy when I see suffering of others..so indirectly when I helped another I had only helped myself regain my previous happy state.

I hope you get the subtle message I am trying to convey here..at times I have helped others at my own expense but ask ourselves why we extend help...deep down inside our heart the words of Sage Yajnavalkya will surely echo "its not for the sake of the other person that we love him or her...but its for the sake of Self"

The Self has to be happy at any cost...so my dear Krish ji..we are indeed self centred creatures no matter how much we deny it.

listen renukaji
I like the conviction with which You say that we are self centred beings

I would like to believe we are not totally that .

you are cheating yourself that you are helping others for the sake of your own self.

you are helping because the other person requires help and you have the capacity and desire to help. if you extend help or not your happiness will not go up/down.

Mumbai rains: Sikh volunteers come to rescue of marooned Mumbaikars

June 22, 2015

Mumbai, June 22:
When thousand of commuters were stranded at different stations as the local train services were disrupted due to heavy rains in Mumbai, Sikh organisations came forward to help those travellers. With pictures of two Sikh NGO volunteers helping commuters who were stuck on platforms going viral, people have been praising the efforts taken by the community. On June 19 when rail services were badly hit by rains, Khalsa Aid and Shri Guru Singh Sabha Mumbai joined hands and the their volunteers came on roads of Mumbai serving Langar ( Hot Meals) to stranded commuters.

Despite heavy water loggings on several parts of the city, the volunteers of Khalsa Aid provided food to the people stuck due to heavy rains. The Dadar station branch of Shri Guru Singh Sabha served food on Dadar station as huge crowd was gathered on the station following cancellation of local trains. Thousands of passengers who toiled hard to reach their destination and had nothing to eat were benefited by the help

With images of the volunteers serving food to helpless commuters going viral on social networking site Facebook, the two NGO received appreciation. People on social media have been sharing their pictures and applauding their efforts.

This is not the first time when the Sikh Aid organisation stretched its arms to serve the humanity. When the horrific earthquake occured in Nepal claiming thousands lives, the volunteers of the NGO participated in the relief works.

Probably this is what you call Helping
and making a Difference

Will it be understood ?
