Dear Dr. Renuka,
I expected a reply for my writing from you & you have done it @ # 11. You have so clearly & in plain language explained as a Female Doctor of deep experience you have Cleared my queries. Thanks a lot. However thoughts linger on , feeling that educated & smart women could be categorized to fit in your reply. I always agree that even ordinary/ matured women easily read the inner minds of Men & that keeps them alert all the time. I also feel that many women may not be that much sensitive to know & feel/ realize the major changes , taking place in the body.
In the same breadth I ask you , whether women can be allowed for worship in Ayyappan Koil at Kerala ? If yes & if No provide reasons as an experienced Gynaecologist?

Dear Rishi Ji,
Firstly I am not a Gynecologist.
I am a General Practitioner...I see all cases that do not need a Specialist intervention..in fact majority of my patients are males...so I do handle even male related cases in case any of you guys need some advise!LOL
Ok back to topic...one does not need even formal education to sense changes in the body..I repeat...Nature has made a human being to be able to sense changes for self as its important for survival of species.
More so in the female species cos they have to protect children.
If you observe then animal kingdom especially elephants..the females esp the Alpha female has a major role to play in survival of their entire species.
In Africa when there is drought..its the Alpha female that relies on her memory to find the next water source for the entire herd and leads all the elephants...its her decision that ensure survival of species..she walks and leads for miles and miles to save her entire herd.
So never ever underestimate the natural instinct of females of any species.
A female has an unique ability to sense slightest changes in self and others..that is why they seem more emotional and sensitive than males.
But it always strange that a male feels he knows more about a woman's body than a woman herself!LOL
Even though I am doc....when dealing with my son and teenage tantrums and changes..I consult my husband who is an engineer about male changes in puberty cos I would only have text book knowledge on this but since I am not a male..I might not have full 1st hand knowledge about a male..hence I seek advise from husband too.
BUT I wonder how is a male so COCK sure they know all about females and make rules for her body without bothering to consult her.
This is sheer ignorance of males to assume they know it all when they might really know anything at all.
Coming to your question about females going to Sabarimalai...firstly the name Sabari itself is named after a female....yet a female is not allowed in.
Now coming to logic I know that in the past the Sabarimalai Ayyaipa temple was situated deep in a jungle and not accessible like how it is now.
Only Thirumeni Ishwaran Namboothiri and VR Gopala Menon were steadfast in their devotion of being in the temple despite the presence of wild animals.
Naturally women of the reproductive age were not allowed cos the trek up to the temple would take many days and if one menstruates or is pregnant there is a risk for complications cos of lack of facilities.
BUT now since conditions have improved I do not see any reason why a female cant enter the temple. This is where some of us humans lack grey matter and do not move with times and make every rule into a superstition and dare not see logic cos they fear some unknown bad luck falling on them..so much for talk about faith in God!LOL
BTW a female knows her bodily functions..even if one has irregular cycles she can always wear a sanitary pad just in case of some unexpected event.
On a personal note..if any temple forbids my entry on whatever grounds..I wont really bother to fight cos my understanding is God is everywhere..inside..outside..everywhere..everything is in Brahman..everything IS Brahman.
So when God does not reject anyone...why bother about small minds that reject people based on gender or any other specification?
