கேள்வி ஒருவர் மரணமடைந்தவுடன், அந்த உடலை வடக்கு தெற்காக வைப்பது, கால் கட்டைவிரல்கள் ஒன்று சேர்த்துக் கட்டுவது போன்ற சடங்குகளை எதற்காகச் செய்கிறார்கள்?

சத்குரு: இறப்பு நேர்கிற நொடியில் இருந்து அல்லது இறப்பு நேர்வதற்கு முன்பிருந்தே ஒரு மனிதன் பயனுள்ள வகையில் இறந்து போவதற்கு என்னென்ன செய்யலாம் என்று இந்தக் கலாசாரத்தில் பல வழிகள் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. ஒருவருக்கு மரணம் நெருங்குகிற வினாடியில், அது குறித்து தெரிந்தவர்கள் ஒருவித சுலபத்துடன் மரணம் நிகழ வேண்டுமென்பதற்காக, அந்த மனிதரை வீட்டுக்கு வெளியே கொண்டுபோய், வடக்கு தெற்காக உடலைக் கிடத்துவார்கள். ஏனெனில், ஒரு கட்டடத்துக்குள் இருக்கிறபோது அவ்வளவு சுலபமாக உயிர் பிரியாது. தலை வடக்கு நோக்கி வைக்கப்படும்போது காந்த ஈர்ப்பு காரணமாக அந்த உயிர் உடலைவிட்டு எளிதாகப் பிரியும்.

மரணம் நிகழ்ந்த பிறகுகூட பிராண சக்தி ஸ்தூல உடலை விட்டு முழுவதும் அகன்றுவிடுவதில்லை. எனவே, அந்த உயிர் உடலை சுற்றிக் கொண்டே இருக்கிறது. ஆனால், உடல் வடக்கு தெற்காக வைக்கப்பட்டு உயிர் பிரியும்போது அந்த உடலில் சில மாற்றங்கள் நிகழ்கின்றன. எனவே, அந்த உடலைச் சுற்றிக்கொண்டு இருப்பது பயன் தராது என்று அந்த உயிருக்குத் தெரிந்துவிடுகிறது. மற்ற சூழ்நிலைகளில் உயிரானது தொடர்ந்து உடலுக்குள் நுழைய முயற்சிக்கும். இந்தப் போராட்டம் அந்த இடத்தில் ஒருவிதமான சக்தியை ஏற்படுத்தும். இது இறந்துபோன மனிதருக்கும் நல்லதல்ல,

வாழ்கிறவர்களுக்கும் நல்லதல்ல. இன்னொரு முக்கிய சடங்கு, இறந்த மனிதரின் இரண்டு கால் கட்டை விரல்களும் ஒன்றாகக் கட்டப்படுவது. பொதுவாகவே மரணம் நிகழ்கிறபோது கால்கள் அகலமாகத் திறந்துகொள்கின்றன. அந்த நிலையில் பின்புறத் துவாரம் திறந்திருக்கும். எனவே பிரிந்து போன உயிர் அந்த மூலாதாரம் வழியே உள்ளே நுழைய முயலும். அது அந்த உயிருக்கும் அந்தச் சூழலுக்கும் நல்லதல்ல. எனவே, கால் கட்டை விரல்களைக் கட்டுவதன் மூலம் மூலாதாரம் மூடப்படுகிறது.

யோகக் கிரியைகள் செய்வதற்காக நீங்கள் கால்கட்டை விரல்களை ஒன்று சேர்க்கும்போது பின்புறத் துவாரம் இயல்பாகவே மூடிக்கொள்ளும். இதையேதான் இறந்தவர்களுக்கும் செய்கிறார்கள். எனவே உடலை கைக்கொள்ளலாம் என்கிற அந்த உயிரின் முயற்சி இப்போது பலிக்காது. மூலாதாரம் திறந்திருக்கிறபோது அந்த உடலின் உள்ளே நுழைய வேறு சில ஆவிகளும் முயலக்கூடும்.

மாந்திரீகப் பயிற்சி மேற்கொள்பவர்களும் அந்த உடலைப் பயன்படுத்தக்கூடும். அப்படி அந்த உடல் வேறு விதத்தில் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டால், அது பிரிந்து சென்ற ஆன்மாவைப் பலவிதங்களில் துன்புறுத்துவதாக இருக்கும். அதனால்தான் ஒரு மனிதர் இறந்துவிட்டார் என்று தெரிந்ததும் அவரின் கால் கட்டைவிரல்கள் ஒன்று சேர்த்துக் கட்டப்படுகின்றன!

Nice information. However there are other ways like ears and nose still open - will they not allow soul to enter there. Even if they enter, body is going to be burnt on the same day?

In Hinduism, dead body will be placed on floor pointing head towards north. Holy water from river Ganges with holy basil will be poured in the mouth of dead body. An oil lamp is lit and placed near the head. The five senses (mouth, nose, ears, eyes, hands) called as 'Panchendriyas' were closed manually. Mouth is filled with rice grains, eyes will be closed, nose and ears will be closed using cotton, and hands are closed with coins. Bathing will be done to dead body and holy ash was applied throughout the body in some communities.

I think the practice is to place head at South and legs at north. If lord Yama "has not taken that life" the doubtful death will replace life shortly. The practical idea of filling up the "nine dwaars" is to shut air getting into and puffing up the body.
