என்னதவம் செய்தனை யசோதா by Karthik

Here is another song rendered by young singer Karthik and his troupe in Star Vijay Chennayil Thiruvizha program on 31st Jan 2013. The song என்னதவம் செய்தனை யசோதா in raaga காபி written by பாபநாசம் சிவன் was superb, which I wish to share:

Dear Brahmanyan Sir,

Thanks for posting this song. Lovely rendition! The flute is outstanding! :thumb:

But the main stanza is left out! Here is the lyric:

சனகாதியர் தவ யோகம் செய்து - வருந்தி

சாதித்ததை புனித மாதே எளிதில் பெற

(என்ன தவம் செய்தனை)

Dear Mrs Raji Ram,

I have not heard this beautiful song from any other musician in recent times. I think Karthik might have cut the song short due to constraints of time !

To be honest, as one who who has staunch reservations on any thing done against purity of our music, in the name of experiment, I set to listen this youngster,s concert of "Fusion" music with a lot of preconceived apprehensions. But my reservations melted away soon and I started tuning-in to his wave length to enjoy his experiment. It was wonderful music in every sense.

Warm Regards,
Brahmanyan,
Bangalore.

Dear Brahmanyan Sir,

What Karthik has rendered is pure 'KApi'. :) His voice is like தென்றல்!

The percussion instruments are added but every one has played in pure classical form.
