????? ???????????? ? ?????? ?.?.???. ???????? | Seythigal.com - ?????????.???? )

Some disadvantages of regular vEshti:

1. Difficult to run fast unless legs are visible!

2. If not worn properly, it will slip off easily. Some mAmAs need belt to hold their vEshti!

3. To maintain the whiteness of vEshti, efforts should be taken. :ballchain:

4. Cotton vEshtis need starching and pressing for a neat look.

5. If color of shirt is different from the border color of vEshti, it will look crazy!

as regards item5, RRji should specify that mama should not be bare top in temples and such places.lol

Dear Krish Sir,

One mAmA in my extended family loves to wear vEshti with broad border and has many with different colored borders.

He has plain shirts also in those border colors. Wow! He looks so great with the matching combination. :)

P.S: Zari bordered vEshtis are nice to wear with any kind of shirt or kurthA! So they are sought after by many mAmAs.

these days even belts do not help for pot bellied mamas.

they can wear bracers over the shoulders to keep veshti in place.

I use it with pants since it is very comfortable as compared with belts

how to adjust the sacred thread is also an issue for brahmins.

hi

in olden days....some mamas wear belt LIKE CLOTH BIG SIZ3 WITH SOME POCKETS in it..LOOKLIKE VILLAGE HORSE RIDER BELT...

Have you not seen bengali babus hoding lower end of doti in one hand, running and catching the bus or tram? What is wrong in displaying shapely legs?

Anything including a loose pant or UG can slip even worn carelessly. Big belly was not a problem as the doti top end and knot were worn below the pot.

See our tamil politicians - karai veshti and shirt are spotless - I still wonder how they do it. Washing in machine makes all white yellow. One thatha tweeted that he had thrown away the eashing machine gifted by his nri grandson, as it made his doti yellow and reverted to hand washing.

We must dress for the occasion. Pants for work if necessary and parties and veshti for elevating the soul activities.

Starched sarees are enough, veshtis do look better when soft and pliable.

Raj has introduced Velcro veshtis for the slippery gang. No more excuses. Hope panchakatchams too come with this user friendly accessory.
