I think he should have been moved by the story - Devados by Saratchnandra exposing the social evils among Bengali Brahmins Girs marrying old men and alcholism etc and the Girl who was the victim was Parvathy - Probably he thought about her and Devdos was the hero who becomes an alcholic! This is interesting - Does it fit in with action reaction!

After decades now Tamil Nadu is back to" Bar" culture Rajajis பார்வதி,may be Barvathi instead of Parvathi in todays context!

In that sphere this 'Nationalist' was lucky and he was the first recipient of 'Bharat Ratna'.

In Tamil Nadu the Dravidian Leaders were specilists in Naming new born children with தமிழ் பெயர்s But Rajaji was great with Naming the books he wrote He has a personel idedentification with the characters in them Ramayanan he wrote he named as சக்ரவர்தி (யின்)திருமகன் yes you got I am sure!

No doubt others were important but Rajaji was a powerful leader of the Congress..He brought in prohibition which is remembered by one and all even now! He is statesman par excellence!! Are you against him because he is a Vaishnava?
