முகூர்த்தவேளையில் மஞ்சள் அரிசியான அட்சதை துவி மணமக்களை வாழ்த்துவர்.

அட்சதை என்றால் பழுது இல்லாதது என்றும், முனை முறியாத முழு அரிசி என்றும் பொருளுண்டு.

அரிசியை மஞ்சளில் தோய்த்து அட்சதை செய்வது இன்றைய வழக்கம்.

நெல்லை உரலில் இட்டு முனை முறியாமல் மெதுவாக குத்தி அரிசியாக்குவர்.

இதை மஞ்சளில் தோய்த்த பின் அந்தஅட்சதையை பூவாக எண்ணி இறைவன் திருவடியில் அர்ச்சிக்க வேண்டும்.

மணமக்களுக்கும், இளையவர்களுக்கும் ஆசியளிக்க பயன்படுத்தலாம் என்கிறது சாஸ்திரம்.

பழுதில்லாத அந்த அரிசி போல வாழ்வில் தம்பதியரும் பழுதின்றி நிறைவாக வாழ வேண்டும் என்பதே இதன் தத்துவம்.

I attended a wedding (in USA) where a few kids (10-13) got Akshadhai in their hand and threw at the bald head of the priest who was shocked, not knowing where it came from. He kept yelling to the adults to stop and focus on the bride and groom. People could not help laughing before scolding the kids
