I have heard good about Bangalore. However - I have heard its travel system is one of the worst and city is choked with high population. Photo 2 shows an empty road - it must have taken in middle of the night. If Chennai has good climate then it can easily cross Bangalore as preferred destinations. Other states people will get a new experience learning a new langauge as well.

I think that because of Tamilians habit of flocking to Bengaluru for its plusses, we do not have enough respectability in the minds of Kannadigas there! I formed this opinion after hearing about attacks on Tamils in the past (some 10+ yrs ago). There have been several attacks on Tamilians in Bengaluru and Bombay, if I am right!

Bombay okay

It is my opinion that, Bombay is now okay and they are turning their attention to Bihar & other core hindi state migrants. Tamils were targeted in olden days but not of a big concern now. I see lot of Bombay tamils well-off there and do like that place. Usha Udup was asked where she wants to live madras or bombay and she told liking Bombay! Tamil issues in karnataka comes now and then due to Cauvery agitation during dry period.

JR JI –

Every community gangs up when they migrate – china town, little Italy, Irish, Jews, English, Germans, etc.. similarly the Marathis, Gujaratis,Punjabis, Telugus, Tamils, Kannadas, Mallus etc..

Bangalore is adjacent to TN & AP – next town isHosur, similarly on the AP side, Anantapur. So there will be a sizealble Tamils& Telugus in Bangalore due to the location itself. So when there is adispute between any of these 2 states, there will be tension among thecommunities.

So what is unique about Tamilians flocking together thatyou don’t like ?

Are you ashamed of Tamilians ? are you ashamed of ourhomeland TN ?

Some people are critical of our own people first, ourcountry, our religion, etc.. no wonder many of them are NRIs !!

Cheers,

Namaste JK Sir,

You have this habit of putting words into other peoples' mouth and say things that did not say, as if they said it.

Where in my messages above did I say it is wrong for Tamilians "to get together with other Tamilians". (or that I am "ashamed of" TN?).

If that is what Tamilians want, they don't have to migrate! They find all Tamilians they want in their homestate, namely TN.

Tamilians are migrating to Bengaluru for all of the 10 factors listed in the OP - and "to be with other Tamilians" is not one of them!

Coming to being critical of Tamilians, well, you see, there is a saying in Tamil, "Paambin Kaal Paambariyum". Having been in India throughout my childhood/adolescence and early adulthood, I know the mentality of our people, and I try to point that out (true facts) when I get a chance. If you don't like it, (like the way you brushed aside my valid reply to your NRI bashing in GD forum), you can choose to skip past my posts!

Truth is always bitter!.

Pray tell me - In a thread praising Bangalore, what is the need to bring the point of “not enough” respectability of Tamils with Kannadigas based on some 10 yr old “unverified data”? How does anyone know sitting abroad for decades what is the relation between these 2 communities on the ground ?

Same way, as some people sitting in India, engage in routine NRI bashing in the grounds that "they are not respected abroad"!

There is one powerful medium that conveys all stories to anyone interested - the media. Some time ago (not sure exactly when it happened), there was news printed all over how Tamilians (of lower income group) in Bengaluru and Karnataka were targeted and beaten, etc.

Also I read news on how Rajinikanth was treated when he went for his Lingaa shooting in Karnataka recently that he needed close security for 1 month period!

Can you pl elaborate what is the mentality of our people –Tamils, you know so well that the rest of us don’t know?. Is it they gang upwhen they migrate & lose respect with the locals ? – so this is the truefact you are referring to ?

What about the Irish, Germans, French, Jews etc… they allhave their associations in the USA, - oh so junk (oops!) whites do not loserespectability when they gang up?, oh coz they are junk (oops!) whites & itis politically incorrect to call them names ?

LOL !!

Talking about Racism, NRI/Western lifestyle are NOT NRI bashing... every lifestyle has its pros & cons, & hence can be discussed in this forum. if you can prove the NRI lifestyle is better than the religious lifestyle in TN, please do so by all means !!
