A few days after arranging the reconversion of 30 Christians, the Chengannur district unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday claimed to have converted 11 Muslims to Hinduism at a ceremony in Kayamkulam.

As in the previous instance, the conversion ritual was kept under wraps by VHP functionaries until its conclusion. The ceremony took place at Kizhavoor Yakshi Amman Temple at Varanappally from 7 a.m. for around two hours in the presence of VHP workers.

VHP Chengannur district president Prathap G. Padickal said the persons belonged to three families, one hailing from Arattupuzha and the others from Kayamkulam. “A member each of two couples had been forcibly converted to Islam as part of love jihad years ago,” he said and added that the third family hailed from Tamil Nadu and had settled in the State.

“All the three families have been practising Hindu rituals and customs for some time. They had approached the VHP seeking our assistance for the conversion,” Mr. Padickal said. He refused to divulge the identities of the three families in order to “ensure their protection”. The VHP leader also declined to say whether there would be further conversions in the region in the coming days.

The 11 if they wanted to convert, and got converted must be happy. I congratulate them.
Are other Hindus happy that their number swelled by 11.
11 Muslims converted to Hinduism, says VHP - The Hindu

Members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad have promised that Hindu converts will be allowed to choose their caste or social class, an extraordinary offer that would seem to overturn thousands of years of a system in which birth determines caste.

We should be allowed freedom to practice and propagate one's religion...The above is perfectly fine..Now the majority has woken up...So the missionaries are in catch 22 situation..If they oppose it will hit them hard..If they do not oppose it will mean tey are taking it lying down

Dalit group working on “ghar wapsi” programme to restore lost pride of Hindus

NEW DELHI:

Just when a resurgent Vishwa Hindu Parishad is hogging the headlines by reiterating that it is determined to bring Hindus who had converted to Islam back into the fold of their original religion, a Dalit group is working on another sort of ghar wapsi or homecoming programme with much less fanfare that could kick up a similar political storm.

Unlike the VHP’s programme, this group’s project does not threaten India’s fragile religious harmony. But it could radically alter social equations within Hindus as it seeks to restore a Valmiki, a Khatik or a Charmakaar to their “original” surnames such as Mishra, Pandey, Tiwari, Tomar or a Rathod.

The group – led by led by Bizay Sonkar Shastri, a national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a former chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes – says it has taken it upon itself to restore the “lost pride” of the Hindus who volunteered to descend in the caste hierarchy rather than accept Islam during the time of Islamic invasion.“We are talking about ghar wapsi for people who took to other religions because their ancestors were either forced to do so, or who thought they would get respect if they convert. What about those who did not convert but took up menial jobs just to save their religion? Is it not the right time to give them their place in society?” he asked.

However, historian Prakash Ambedkar, grandson of Dalit icon BR Ambedkar, rejected the theory.“BJP has come to power and anti-Islamism is the only force to unite the Hindus,” he said.

Shastri said he has already addressed about 500 seminars to spread awareness on the issue and he has also held talks with the BJP’s ideological mentor, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and other Hindu organisations.

He added that he has lined up another 2,000 seminars across the country.“We are planning to make this a people’s movement and people will decide what our future course of action would be. But whatever we will do, will be done following the due course, as mentioned in our scriptures. And we are collecting data on that,” he said.

shortfall in eligible brahmin girls for marriage.

the shortfall is hitting the brahmin community badly as girls are in very short supply

It is necessary and laudable to enlighten all communities of their glorious past, and history and the reasons for the downfall. Let them choose what they want after knowing their heritage.
