Actually, as per some of our learned sages, a women need look no further than her husband, for he is god incarnate. To her.

That was a begone era.

But that was part of evolution of an ancient society through the beginningless and endless continuum called TIME. So there is nothing to be ashamed about or to feel guilty about.

At a time when women were mere chattals to be owned and exploited or owned and exchanged or bartered or usurped it was only proper that a family had to fight the battle of survival every day.

In all battles the side which has discipline wins easily.

That was the lesson learnt in each battle in which the natives of this country lost to invaders-whether it was Alexander, Babur or even Timur the Lang or Gengis Khan. Discipline ensures marching forward as a unit through hostile territory and thus ensures strength and security. The commander has to be obeyed implicitly without questioning. When the commander is down the Assistant commander takes over if fit.

This in short is the story of each family of those times.

And every Acharya stressed on this kind of implicit obedience to a commander and made it a virtue. And we survived as a glorious civilization largely unscathed despite barbarians invading our land.

So evolution has always to be looked at as a given fact and there is no use being judgmental about the processes involved.

Dont know if husband is God incarnate or not but the fact is playing 2nd fiddle does have a lot of benefits.

Sometimes taking a back seat in life is actually conducive for a woman.

That is why I will never vote for a female president or prime minister or any top post.

Will only vote a male!

Reason?

Becos if I vote a Female leader that actually means that added responsibility for a female...you start to imagine yourself in the top most position(I dont mean sexual)...and that scares the living daylights out of yourself..that this also could mean that you could one day be that top most post.

So this means extra work..extra responsibility...extra stress...NOOOOOO!

No way!

By voting a male...we do not have to "share" the feeling of being in charge of everything.

We can relax knowing that the top most responsibility is not ours..in fact its relaxing for a female to let a male take the lead.

Just have sex with him and you are taken care of!LOL

So I have to agree...with ancient sages..they called husband God incarnate to give the sex a holy shade.

Perhaps it is a bygone era in your mind and possibly of some others who have seen the futility of such commandments. But for the large majority of Hindus, it is very much alive - kicking and throbbing !

That works both ways (and I dont mean sexual :) )

What you have said above is only one point of view, and depends on individual worldview. There should be a mutual understanding and respect for either gender so that they could take turns being up and down. ;-)

Can't fully agree. Women have proved their might in political and other fields world over. Indira Gandhi, Margaret Thacher, Sirimao Bhandara Nayeke are few examples. Many Indian queens like Rani of Jhansi, Razia Sultana are also proved they are capable of ruling their country. Bandit queen - Phoolan Devi was a terror power, mights of many men could not match. CEOs of many major companies now a days are women. So handling power is not a new thing to women.. in many areas they manage it better than men..

Make the fellow addicted to you. That is enough. You can leave him to toil and moil at the tough tasks of life all the time foolishly believing that nhe is in charge. Take charge from him whenever you want so that you can have the cake and eat it too. Take care to see that he is not weaned away and the addiction comes to an end. He should be singing for the life time "age can not wither her, nor custom stale her infinite variety...." etc., endlessly.

You are the real master and God always stays on your side-in fact he too is scared of you. LOL.

Ancient sages really knew what they said. LOL.

I agree with renukaji that playing second fiddle has its quota of benefits.

I have tried repeatedly to abdicate in favour of better half.

Mostly most women see thru the game after a few days and throw back the baton and take the back seat again.

Most want only to convince themselves that they have not lost control and back seat control is still the best option

I can't imagine any Indian woman perform like Jessie. She is a real

. :clap2:

Somehow our girls are not trained for such events and we don't have anything like this in India.

Indian women can achieve in fields which need the use of grey matter! :thumb:
