After Lawyers and Doctors, Teachers Start Wearing Coats to Shield From Lustful Stares

MADURAI: After doctors and lawyers, it now seems to be the turn of teachers. In perhaps an unusual move, women teachers in a government high school at Vannivelampatti in Peraiyur taluk here from Monday started wearing overcoats while teaching. The intention was to protect them from lewd gazes and comments from boy students during school hours, said the teachers.

A function, which was organised to distribute the overcoats in the school, saw the participation of the district Chief Educational Officer among others. Usilampatti educational district officer Renuka Devi handed the overcoats to eight women teachers at the event held at the co-ed school which has 179 students.

Headmaster S Baskaran said, “We came up with the idea of providing overcoats to the women teachers. When we informed about it to the District Education Department, the authorities, including CEO J Angelo Irudhayasamy, readily agreed to it,” he added.

“We hope that similar to those working in medical and judiciary departments, women teachers would also have more protection with these coats, which could help avoid comments directed at them,” said Baskaran.

The saree-blouse combination does not suit any work. It is good only for fashion models and high society ladies.

Wearing a coat over any attire is common here..especially cos most offices are air conditioned and coats are worn to keep warm.

So be it saree or salwar kameez or a corporate pant/suit or traditional muslim attire many women wear coats of different shades of color.

hi

when i was school teacher in a boarding school ......school located in hill station.......it was co ed school.......all lady teachers

wear over coat....with teacher's uniform.....due to cold and dignity....

To cover the mid part of the body, Sushma Ji's style is the best!

But how to wear a sweater in hot climate is the big ?

A god idea. I appreciate the originator.

The teachers will not have to suffer being selfconcious..

The students will be free from the tyranny of hormones and pheromones and can concentrate on the lessons. No distractions.

A good idea. I wonder why this did not occur to people all these years.

Oh no it happens in some Muslim countries.

Is that what we want for Indian women? It looks like that would be what most men in this forum are expressing their opinion.

Nice try, but it doesn’t work. Muslim men bury their women under clothing because the sight of female flesh makes them crazy. They can no longer contain themselves, and otherwise would have to resort to raping and pillaging anything female that moves. In fact, should a modestly dressed female women enter his line of sight, he would be inclined to rape her because he could not contain himself, and any muslim judge would concur with that.

To make any other assertion so they can try and make a point like the posts above just feeds into their asinine reasons.

How can anyone think of over coat in this hot country?

Recently, I visited a jewellry shop in T'Nagar, which is famous for reduced prices. All the girls were wearing high neck blouses which

covered the mid region completely! Sarees pallus were tucked in the front and the dress was very decent. All those girls were thin! :)

May be such dressing will be difficult for the plump teachers. :D

Burqa is very convenient. Yesterday, I saw a female wearing a burqa over her underskirt.

I could easily :spy: because she was riding a two wheeler at high speed. Hope she had her blouse ON.

What should have been the speed of the wind to determine if she had her blouse ON too... lol :)

Long, long back, I visited a couple, who became my relatives after my wedding.

That mAmA returned after a trip to Singapore, clad in a safari suit. :thumb:

He casually removed the suit in his bedroom with doors wide open and
OMG!! The inner wear was only a 'tear and wear'!

I was glad that he was facing the wall! ''S S over K'' became our family joke thereafter!!

Another time, one of the ladies (my in-law, again!) was changing to madisAr from the six yards saree, in her kitchen.

The daily sheet calendar said 'chandira dharisanam' on that day. But it happened without 'ra' for me!!

P.S: My :spy: eyes NEVER miss such scenes! :D

If a lady is making "LOL" like this , then what about the teen age school boys!!

That is why the lady teachers started wearing over coats, after learning from experience..

Yes, Sir! You are correct.

The moral of the two episodes I have posted is:

''Never change your dress keeping the door of the room OPEN''!

There exist :spy: eyes to make fun of you!! :D

When my cousin bro's son got married, his wife could not manage the madisAr to cover up fully, since she is very tall.

When she climbed up the stairs, I noticed it and immediately rushed behind her and helped her to wear it properly.

See.... I am always helpful. :)

P.S: My new idea of 'Two piece madisAr' is very popular in my family circle and I have stitched 14 of them for different ladies. :thumb:

I agree with you madam.

Even small kids playing with toys on one side, simultaneously watching TV,singing the songs in synchronization with TV

advertisements and answering parents in between would never miss the scenes of these kinds.

People have to be care full with them and could not ignore them taking it granted that they are small kids.

After Lawyers and Doctors, Teachers Start Wearing Coats to Shiel From Lustful Stares.

It is indeed a good idea to wear Black Gown just like College professors. This will give an elegant look and dignity to the teachers. Many foreign Countries follow this dress code. Similarly staff in Government offices should wear proper attire like Coat and tie. During the British period dress regulations were followed. My uncles who were working in Imperial Bank of India used to wear white Dhoti/Pant full hand shirt with tie and Coat. Similarly my teachers at school used to wear full pants or Panchakacham Veshti, full hand shirt, coat and Turban or Cap. I studied in a Municipal School.

The Kasturiba gandhi Hospital in Trplicane was originally Gosha hospital treating only female patients by female doctors & female staff - No Ambala Vaasanai around! Should we revert to that? Every one talks about dress code for women teachers - Why not for men?

OMG! an all female hospital!

No way! Do you know its actually harder treating females than males?

For males you do not have ask them about menstrual cycle...you do not have to ask them if they are pregnant or breast feeding.

Males do not come with irregular menses giving you a headache to find out if they could be pregnant before you prescribe medication.

Some female patients bring the roof down when you want to take blood..males seldom scream while taking blood but I have noticed most Army males are scared of needles!LOL

Its much easier treating males cos they are more realistic in approach and less conscious about body image..females all want to look thin without exercising or keeping a watch on what they eat.

Then as a female ages she does not want to accept that joint pains are inevitable if one had lead a very sedentary life and keep complaining and expect to feel young again.

Males do not complain as much becos they do as they please....neither do they stop smoking or drinking even after 2 heart attacks....more males land in the morgue earlier than females but at least when they are alive they do not nag their doctors as much.

Females live longer and nag their doctors!LOL

Do you know more women do unpaid work[about 413 minutes a day average] in india and malaysia unlike their western counterparts where it is 65%?

If you make women work and not pay them for it, they end up as nags doing that with all including their doctors.

If the doctor is a women and attractive , they do that more.lol

Men on the other hand are more circumspect and would not do the same with a female doctor. Instead they would go home and nag their wives instead. So average

works out to be the same.

teacheers_vc1.jpg

teacheers_vc3.jpg
