Air India Ground Staff Arrested For Trafficking Nepalese Women To Dubai

One of the worst fears of human rights organisations - that the recent Nepal earthquake would lead to massive human trafficking from the country - seems to be coming true.

New Delhi: A human trafficking racket has been busted at the Indira Gandhi International airport after two Air India employees were arrested by the Delhi Police on Wednesday. Investigators claim that seven Nepalese women were being helped to migrate illegally to Dubai. The two Air India ground staff members were allegedly helping the women skip passport and immigration checks.
The women were issued with boarding passes showing they were in transit, to avoid Immigration clearance.
The incident occurred over the last two days after which police registered an FIR on Tuesday and arrested these women and two employees working at the IGIA, based on an operation of the CISF.
