The iPod Touch is probably the oldest product in Apple’s product line, and it hasn’t been updated in years. Among devices sporting the latest and the greatest processors, the iPod Touch sports an age-old processor that is barely able to handle iOS, forget opening apps and games.
Now, Apple has announced a long-overdue refresh of the iPod line, with new colors coming to other models and the iPod Touch getting a significant update with an all new A8 Processor that is much more powerful than the previous iPod Touch, which hasn’t been updated since 2012.
It even has the M8 coprocessor, so it can make for a nice companion in the gym.
It has 1GB of RAM and a 8MP back camera, compared wot the 512MB RAM and the 5MP camera on the previous iPod Touch. It supports slow-motion video recording.
The screen is still the same at 4 inches with a resolution of 1132×640 pixels.
The base 16GB model will cost $199, and there’s a 128GB model at $400.
We think Apple has made a great move, since it gives all the important aspects of the iPhone 6 at a much more palatable cost.
What do you think? In an age of smartphones and tablets, is the iPod Touch really that useful?
