Wow! It is a great amount for an intern!

When you're Apple, it pays to be the largest company in the world (at least by market cap), so much so, even interns reap the benefits.
Apple interns can apparently fetch salaries approaching $7,000 a month, or $80,000 a year, according a Business Insider report. One former Apple non-engineering intern told Mashable the company paid them around $2,500 a month for part-time work; they would have earned $5,000 a month, or $60,000 annually, if they had worked full-time.
The caveat? 100% confidentiality.
If candidates make it through the interview process and receive an internship offer, Apple requires that they stay mum on what they see, hear and work on inside the company.
That's not surprising in the least. It's Apple we're talking about, after all, and the company is renowned for its clandestine ways.
But to ensure secrecy, the company also keeps departments in the dark about what other departments are working on. Apple also keeps select office buildings off-limits to many employees, winnowing access down to just a few personnel.
Interestingly enough, Apple's internship salaries are roughly on-par with what many other top-tier tech companies pay their interns.
Facebook and LinkedIn interns on average earned over $6,200 a month, or about $74,400 annually, according to Glassdoor, a jobs site. Moreover, interns over at Palantir and VMware made even more, easily matching the salary Apple pays. Those numbers, just in case you were wondering, all trumped last year's average U.S. household income of $52,800 a year.
So while a career in tech may prove demanding, know that even the interns are handsomely rewarded for their hard work.
