Brahmins of bygone era abstained from meat because they lived as brahmins performing the karma mandated by the dharma for brahmins. such lifestyle necessitated abstaining from meat.

Is there any brahmin of current times who can rightfully claim that he/she lives the life of a brahmin as prescribed in the scriptures?
