So, when a person recites a slOkA, when he does veda pArAyaNam, when he/she reads Bhagwat Geeta or when he/she sings a Bhajan or Bhakti Sangeet, he /she defiles the entire body?

One should be careful of taking an absolutist position especially when it pertains to the area of God, Almighty or Universe etc. which are not fully known to the human kind. Also comparisons and abstracts given by someone cannot be applied mutatis mutandis to all situations.
