Accusing the woman of stealing slippers, the staff allegedly stripped and thrashed her, and even took away the money she had had on her.

Two security staff of a super market in Electronic City here have been booked for assault, robbery and outraging the modesty of a Bangladeshi woman after they thrashed and stripped her, on Friday.

The staff claimed that they were ‘searching’ the woman after finding a pair of slippers that was not billed in her possession as she was exiting the super market. It is said that a local politician also supported the security staff.

Why this vigilante Justice by the security staff, why not call the Cop and let the justice system take its course? Or we believe in justice system selectively?

Is the picture of the accused?

After a tumultuous few days, Saturday brought much relief to 32-year-old Shahida from Bangladesh, as police returned the Rs. 65,000, which was robbed from her by a woman and two security guards of a super market in Hebbagodi. Tears rolled down her eyes when the police handed over the cash.
“I pray that god reward you for the help,” she said while receiving the money. “I cannot explain what I went through and have not slept for five days. Today, I can sleep peacefully and pray that no one should suffer like this,” she said.
Shahida, a native of Baliga village in Bangladesh, had come to city a fortnight ago to get her husband Mohammed Mujibur Matabur treated at Narayana Hrudayalaya. She was allegedly beaten up by Manjula, a social worker, who claimed to be a police officer after Shahida walked out of D- Mart thinking that the slippers she was wearing had been billed.
The security guards had caught her for unbilled item, and along with Manjula, took Shahida to the storeroom where she was strip searched. They had even robbed Rs. 65,000 and 5,000 Bangladeshi takas from her.
The Hebbagodi police had arrested Manjula based on a complaint and managed to recover Rs. 60,000 from her. The police made the supermarket management pay Shahida Rs. 5,000.
The couple is awaiting the final check-up. “I want my husband to get well and we could return home as soon as possible,” she said.
Hebbagodi police are on the lookout for the two guards.
“We have identified the two female guards, but they had not reported for work on Saturday. We have definite clues about their whereabouts and they will be nabbed soon,” a senior police officer said.
