In the recently released EDU-RAND 2015 rankings, IIT Delhi has been ranked as the best Engineering College in India, followed by IITs in Kharagpur, Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati and Kanpur.

Other rankings

Jadavpur Univ. Kolkata Leading among Govt. Colleges
BITS Pilani First place among Pvt. Colleges

Overall, BITS is at 10 followed by JNU and Bengal Engg. and Science University (BESU), Shibpur at 11 and 13 respectively.

It is the joint collaboration between EDU, a niche online platform on higher education, along with RAND Corporation, USA.

The basis of ranking is in line with employability, research productivity, faculty qualifications, and students' demand for education at the institution.

well, all these rankings are cooked up !!, the most sought after is IIT Madras & in the case of IIM, it is IIM Bangalore.

Plus everyone is desperately trying to move into Chennai these days and dont get me going about those NRIs who all want to get into IITM LoL

when the US economy collapses on the huge debt, the biggest queue in Chennai in front of the amma canteens will be the NRIs. Don't worry, IITM is beyond the reach of most NRIs . LOL !

What happened to Anna University? It has not figured in the ranking list.
