You are right, PJ ji, it maybe just some 'chillarai' for us, but they surely add up, for the shopkeeper in savings, if he can successfully manage to 'steal' 10 paise each from customers...

In the US, there was an example for this... one toll booth worker was once caught red-handed stealing just 25c from each vehicle (or majority of them) that stopped by his toll booth. Over a period of 10 yrs, he had amassed a lot of wealth this way. It was finally found out and he was punished.
