The new Government under Shri Narendra Modi should confer "Bharat Ratna" the highest National Award on
Shri Atal Bihari Vajapayee. He is one of the great Parliamentarians our Country has produced, a patriot and gentleman. His orations in Parliament and outside are memorable for wit and wisdom. Silenced by a stroke now he leads a retired life at the age of 89.

Fully in agreement with the suggestion. First let the Government get formed before steps like this.

Dear Sri Brahmanyan,

I endorse it...Shri Vajpayee is a tallest statesman who put India on the Nuclear map by conducting underground nuclear tests..The Kargil victory against Pakistan was another feather in his cap.

He is the first Prime Minister with a background from the Right wing-He started as a full time RSS worker & later joined the Hindu Nationalist Group; the erstwhile Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which he headed from 1968 to 1977 and brought it to national prominence, which later merged with the Janata Party in 1977 and subsequently he formed the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1980

Another significant achievement of the 3 times Prime Minister is the Highways development..It was even accepted by Congress that the Vajpayee Government developed half the roads in last 32 years in their 6 year term

he deserve it...i heard that even sonia praised abt vajpayee in one of the election meetings...
 
Shri Vajpayee is a great man in his own right. But Bharat Ratna to him is not one less to his feathers. These awards should not be politically motivated ones. I doubt lengthening of the Award's list will give us any credit. Nor that argument that so and so had also been given the award.
 
The trio are indeed pearls of our motherland! Bharat Ratna to Shri Madan Mohana Malavya, Netaji & Vajpayee is most deserved ... delayed but not denied now with the latest news!

Bharat Ratna soon for Pt Malaviya and Netaji Bose

Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will soon will be conferred the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen to announce this soon. By the end of the year, the BJP's first prime minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will also be given the Bharat Ratna. Modi may announce this in Parliament.

Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya (18611946) was an educationist and politician notable for his role in the independence movement and his espousal of Hindu nationalism. He was the President of the Indian National Congress on four occasions and is remembered as the founder of the Benaras Hindu University.

Subhash Chandra Bose, or Netaji, as he was called, was a nationalist whose defiant patriotism made him a hero in India, but whose attempt during World War II to rid India of British rule with the help of Nazi Germany and Japan left a troubled legacy.
