One of the important take away from Bhikshu Gita in Srmand Bahgavatham 11th Canto is that Varna and caste are not carrying the same meaning. Varna is called Classification whereas Caste is called out as Jathi (even this is a poor term in Sanskrit) because Jathi means species like cows , horses etc. At best it denotes humans and so using that here is out of context. Lacking a better term I have used it). The important point is caste and Varna are not the same. Varna is a feature based classification and Caste is more like mold which takes its root based on birth parents . If a caste Kshartriya also possesses Satvic + Rajasic qualities and very low levels of Tamas then he is said to have Kshatriya Varna - otherwise he cannot call himself as belonging to Kshatriya Varna - nor will it make eligible to Kshatriya activties . Thus Jathi can be many Varna are on;y 4. Having this clarity in mind will enable us to understand the this book appropriately.
