What time is BRAHMA MUHURTHAM

Early morning is called Brahma Muhurtham, which means that it is the time to worship God. At that time, all the people are in deep sleep and nobody will disturb you. The atmosphere is sacred because the vibrations of mind involved in world matters are not emitted from the people since they are in deep sleep. Mind is also a form of energy. Mind disappears in deep sleep. The atmosphere is not polluted by the radiations of worldly feelings. At that time devotees awake and pray God. Their pure mental rays pervade all over the world and make the time sacred. Thus it becomes congenial and encouraging atmosphere. After sunrise people awake and the materialistic mental radiations are emitted through their physical senses. The atmosphere is polluted. People will disturb you dragging you to materialistic discussions. Even by seeing face, you will be effected. If you see a devotee, you become sacred. The mind and body are inter-related. Since mind is energy and energy is matter, even if you see the body, the mind in that body is emitted out effecting you. Therefore, avoid even the vision of materialistic people, not to say about their touch, conversation and co-living. After sunrise when you worship God, close your eyes to avoid such people. But, their mental radiations spread all over the cosmos and are inevitable.

Dear Sir,

Why should we have negative thoughts about others..and close our eyes upon seeing them?

Why can't we see God in everyone...if we have such thoughts of classifying people into various grades we ourselves will radiate negative thoughts and there goes all the so called benefits of praying.

Why don't you give that person the benefit of getting some positive thoughts from you if you feel he is materialistic and worldy.

After all Ratnakara became Valmiki after coming in contact with Narada Muni..so holy and pious people should NOT keep eyes closed and let positive radiance benefit all...other wise it is no use even reciting Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavantu.

Karma is also sometime collective..so it is not just for the individual benefit that we pray to God.

We need to pray to God to help make everyone realize Him.

We Hindus need to realize this fact..something that other religions actually do better than us.

They always try to redeem the "fallen" and get more converts.

They do not close their eyes upon anyone in their own community.

What OP meant is that we are not NaradAs, so it would be hard to focus on the spiritual aspects, when people drag us towards their goals. So, it is better to isolate from them atleast for the needed time of meditation.

We have such obvious experience in this forum, we had to battle the negative opinions for 2 years, to even come up to a compromise. Just imagine, in real life, you cant change anyone with verbal discussions. In fact, these tarka vAdhis are more vehement in putting their foot down, and forcing us to follow them.

Again, most dreams/lucid dreams occur around 6AM. It should be wiser to wake up early to that.

Dear Shri Narasimhan,

I think you have a kind of fetiche about the so-called braahma muhoortam (not brahma with a short 'a', fyki). Early morning is not all braahma muhoortam. This is your second thread on this topic today and in the other thread (significance of BM) I have explained that there are 30 muhoortas in a day and the duration of one muhoortam will be one-fifteenth of the duration of the "ahas" or daytime or "niSA" or night time. On an average therefore one muhoorta is around 48 minutes and the said braahma muhoortam is the last but one before sunrise. The last muhoortam named "samudrama" has not been paised for anything.

Hence all this "much ado" about this nothing called braahma muhoortam is all pure belief only. Even when materialistic people sleep, their body is alive and their mind is also working in dream stage and all the vibrations are present throughout the atmosphere. If one cannot have pure mental state then he just cannot hope for any consideration from god. The problem is that you do not know what god thinks of you but you think god thinks that you are a great devotee of god. What proof is there that god has not completely written off your case or my case, just like the confidential reports in Government offices.

Anyway, it is a good, hilarious system to avoid even looking at the face/s of non-devotees. Would you have preferred being born blind? How do you determine whether a person standing before you is a devotee and so his "darshan" will make you sacred? First by looking at him, I presume. But then if that fellow happens to be a non-devotee, don't you think all the sacredness will evaporate?
