Thisedition of mine and the translation of the Vedas will hereafter tellto greatextenton the fate of India. It is the root of their religion and to showthemwhatthe root is, I feel sure, is the only way of uprooting all that hassprung fromitduring the last three thousand years.”

Vivekanandawas just a proponent of an ideal thought which promotedegalitarianism and helped run nation smoothly. This was just a singlecounter explanation to thousands of slanders thrown by JyotirmayaSharma on Hinduism and its proponents. Such lobbies of intellectualsshould have the effrontery to hurl this slander on hindus andHinduism, in their speeches as well as in their writings. The blatantremarks about Hinduism promoting Hindu terror, sometimes Saffronterror are hurled to divide the nation apart.
Unfortunately, since independence, the central leadership has sought no means anddesires to reformulate the misrepresented Vedas by British historiansinto their real forms, continuing connecting caste with birth. TheSanatana Dharma and Vedas in their true sense becomes an inevitableessence for the humankind, for an egalitarian society, for the prideand self esteem.
Iwould leave this article here only, quoting Mahatma’s views abouthis religion.
Believingas I do in the influence of heredity, being born in a hindu family, Ihave remained a hindu. I should reject it, if I found it inconsistentwith my moral sense or my spiritual growth. On examination, I havefound it to be the most tolerant of all religions known to me. Itsfreedom from dogma makes a forcible appeal to me in as much as itgives the votary the largest scope of self expression. Not being anexclusive religion, it enables the followers of the faith not merelyto respect all other religions, but it also enables them toassimilate whatever may be good in other faiths.”

Againthe idol worship is considered a superstition and a dogma by many andhindus are criticized for doing so. Once, a king asked Vivekananda togive up idol worship. Vivekananda asked the king to spit on theframed photograph which portrayed the mother of king. The kingrefuted saying that he could not do so because he found her mother inthat picture and revered it equally as he revered her living body. Isee my mother through this picture. There it is! God manifestshimself in all identities, living and non living, both. Had therebeen no temples and idols in India, it would have become just likeAfghanistan, which has become a barren land after demolishing 2000Buddha temples in the distant past. Similarly, the celebration ofDahi Handi and festivals alike bring colours to life, which has beena long Indian tradition. While “OhMy God”portrayed the true essence of Hinduism in many respects, it failed toleave a positive and enriching legacy due to above stated explanationand may imprint on audience’s mind a negative impact. The movie putall the religious institutions into a single basket and invoked inthem to prohibit themselves to visit such institutions. Sri SriRavishankar’s Art of Living religious institute has enabled many apeople to live their lives joyously and has even reformed manynaxalites. Again, Patanjali Yogpeeth has cured many a disease riddenmasses and given them a new life to lead in a healthy way. But again, the criticizers don’t recede. They accuse such revered gurus ofcarrying out a business. You are damned if you do, you are damned ifyou don’t! I say to them “ I want many more businessmen likethem who carry out an honest business, enriching Indian economy,Sanatana Dharma and values and social ethos as well as curediseases.”
Hence, the essence isinevitable and the consequence will be the elimination of misbalanceswhich have been created by the western philosophy and European socalled modern science across the globe.
