Microsoft has been going through a transition ever since Satya Nadella took the reigns from Steve Ballmer, and adopted a more mobile and cloud-centric approach.

In the past few months, Microsoft has been aggressively consolidating its position in Android and iOS Markets, and has been making apps that are topping the charts and are extremely popular

Cortana is Microsoft’s Virtual Assistant
, and is an amalgamation of Siri and Google Now, and in tests, it proved to be better than both of them at many tasks.

With the integration of Cortana in Microsoft’s next Browser, Spartan, Microsoft shows that it wants to bring Cortana everywhere, and according to a Reuters Report, Microsoft is working on Cortana for Android. It won’t integrate as deeply as Google Now, but it will be great nevertheless.

Cortana is one of the best Virtual Assistants, but it is limited by an unpopular OS and Android provides the perfect pipeline for Cortana to grow and expand.

What would be the implications of Cortana coming to Android? Should Microsoft just shut down the Windows Phone Project?

In Q4, 2014, market share of android is 76.8% and windows, 2.8. Microsoft has a long way to go even to reach iOS share of 20%.

Despite advice not to buy, my wife bought a nokia lumia windows phone and had to ditch it within a few months. It used to freeze often, the font size became huge, and many a time, reset and start could be done only by opening the cover and removing the battery.

I had a Nokia E71...It had so many problems in the software! It used to perennially hang! Finally I hung the phone!

I had an E63 with symbian. I use it as an mp3 player. Its fidelity and HiFi is fantastic, better than high end mp3 players. Certified by audiophiles!
