Cousin Marriage

Hi I am sunny from pune. Recently I married to my cousin (Mothers Sisters Daughter) I am a tamilian. But everyone is saying the marriage is illegal and therefore they have made a complaint in court and sent me a notice from advocate. I need your help as from past posts I have rode the stories of Brother-Sister marriages in ancient India. I need some good points to fight against the people. Can you please help me.

Yesterday only a member of our forum wrote that we should not entertain such topics in our forum.

Better you consult your lawyers on this issue as this topic is not going to contribute anything productive to our community.

Dear Sunny,

Taking examples from this forum may not be of any help in a court of law. You should better consult a lawyer who is an expert in personal law relating to your religion, denomination, caste, etc. If your marriage has been conducted in accordance with the customs of your community, or if your marriage has been registered by the registrar or the church, I don't think any one can successfully challenge it.

Please consult a lawyer early instead of relying on some ancient references, especially when you have not revealed whether you are a hindu or not.
