Calling the victory of the BJP-led alliance in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as initiation of a 'revolution' in the country, VHP patron Ashok Singhal on Saturday said by 2020, India would be a Hindu nation.

"I was at the Sai Baba Ashram where Sai Baba told me by 2020 the entire country will be Hindu and 2030 the entire world will be Hindu. I feel that revolution has started," he said at a function here attended by external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and other RSS functionaries.

Hailing the coming to power of the Narendra Modi government, he said the victory has put an end to the 800 years of 'slavery'.
"This is not a modest revolution. It will not remain confined to India but present a new ideology before the world," he said.
He was speaking at a programme for release of a book on the life and work of former RSS chief KS Sudarshan, who died last year with speakers remembering him as someone who encouraged promotion of 'swadeshi' model for the country's development.
Swaraj said Sudarshan had created a positive vibe around him due to which any worker could talk to him freely without fear and his "goodness" made him a "saint" amongst his peers.
"Sudarshanji created such an atmosphere around him that I could speak to him openly. I feel the goodness of a person is measured by the positive vibe that he creates around him. If there is a sense of fear, no worker can talk freely. If there is no sense of fear, a worker can speak freely. He created such an atmosphere," she said.

One very important point; India was 100% hindu at some time before A.D. 1200; how come, then, that non-hindus won wars and settled down as rulers here for 800 years?

History says Hindus got converted and joined other religions like Christianity,Muslim faiths, Buddhism. This might have happened several decades ago. Whether their( previous history is not known) returning to Hindu fold is accepted. If accepted, to which sect? which caste?

First, Hinduism is not an organized religion, with so many Gods and avatars. Apart from this, there are so many sects and sub sects within the sects.

Assuming India becomes a Hindu Nation by 2020, will the same pattern be allowed to exist or force people to follow only one sect - say Rama or Krishna. Recently, one of the Union Ministers wants BG to be the National Book. How many people will accept BG as a religious book at all, in the first place.

Instead of making such crude jokes, he can try to unify Hindus more rationally, shedding casteism.

I think there is difference between Caste and casteism. You do not have to give up your caste and not be castiest. Casteism is discrimination based on caste.

My own take is that India has been a Hindu nation for centuries...With the departure of British and Punjabi & Bengali Mohammedan there was no real threat to Hindu way of life...Otherwise Gandhiji would have asked for a Hindu theocratic state...But as we are realising in the 21st century that the environment around us is getting more more communalized and (Al Qaeda, Taliban, ISIS along with unbridled growth of Muslims in the last 60 years doubling their population in India & conversion by Christian missionaries funded by western powers) we need to assert our identity and nationhood..I personally think we can aspire to be a Hindu state among an oasis of indoctrinated and extremist Islamic countries...After all if Hindus are persecuted any where where else they can go but look up to the parent country that is India

Mahesh yogi in the late sixties said that transcendental meditation and vedic learning will spread all over the globe; he trained 1000 teachers, who in turn will train thousands of teachers for spreading vedic knowledge and meditation. Sanatana dharma accepts the weaknesses and fallibility of individuals from all varnas and asramas, and how they overcome the deficiencies and transgress to higher levels defines their holiness and acceptability.
