Ever since Sri Praveen introduced this section I was looking forward to reading the posts there.
So far there is none though I know many of our contributors have lot to share based on their specific expertise.

This site helps me to get tidbits of news, some news analysis and certain informational items now and then.

I was hoping to read some well written pieces on various topic areas in the expert's corner.

There are many here who have useful information to share and they are able to write very well also. I was going to take risk and make a few suggestions. I I hope there will not be any objections - it is my way of expressing compliments :-) It is not a complete list but in

1. I know Smt RR is a music teacher and an expert. A short primer on Carnatic music that can help encourage teenagers to acquire a taste of this would be a great contribution. It is something many of us can share to generate interest.

2. Sri Brahmanyan has always shared excellent and well thought out posts . Are there anything you will be willing to share in the area of literature from your vast experience.

3. I assume there are expert astrologers in our midst (like Sri Sangom) (e.g., Primer on how to do matching of horoscopes)

4. Experts in matters of finance and investments, (criteria to consider for secure retirement ..etc)

5. Experts that can write about going to various Kshetras. (How to visit xxxx and yyy without pain)

Obviously I am not an expert in any of the above areas and hence my suggestions may seem to be not the right one.

My point is that once one 'expert' starts many more will follow.

Thanks

Its too much "stress" to be called an expert becos one has to live up to the standards of others.

The best is to be just a regular Joe/Jane and write what our mind feels like expressing.

In a more relaxed atmosphere the mind usually produces better results becos there is no compulsion of any kind to adhere to any man made standards. We should be feel free to swing from Viprah mode to Pamara mode and keep ourselves and others guessing what we might really be.

BTW being a "commoner" is much better and as Shah Rukh Khan said "never underestimate the power of a common man"....therefore Common is in..Expert is out!

Experts, perhaps are hesitating a little bit as all in the forum appear to be JACK of all trades !!!
Experts or no expert, those who have something to write about will write. What is attractive here is the promise that you will not be derailed. If someone wants to take on you they will have to do it in a separate thread. You may or may not participate in that thread. The negative is that we may have to put up with a lot of arrogance and chest beating position statements that put off many. And they may as usual skip reading such long winding articles usually written in the fourth quadrant of available time. LOL.

Dear Sri "tks",

You have evaluated the Tamil Brahmin Forum almost correctly. How ever with utmost humility I should admit I am not an expert in any subject, but just a knowledge seeker. Indeed I love reading books, articles and hearing lectures on all subjects, which habit must have imbibed in the gene of my family for generations. (I am happy that my son continues the habit inspite of his busy schedule and pressure of work. Not a week passes without adding a book to his library!) The present generation is lucky that they can enrich their knowledge at a tap on the keyboard. When I was young I used to pedal my way to Libraries to read and collect books. Now times have changed.Today "Just books" library deliver books of our choice at our doorstep!

Well, Tamil Brahmins is a wonderful Forum. I should say (inspite of hiccups here and there) the members enrich the Forum by their views without fear. Though I do not wish to compare the ability of members of the Forum, apart from Smt R R, the Blogs on wide ranging subjects of Smt V.R.are awe-inspiring. I feel she can contribute a lot in this section "Expert's Corner".

As a believer in the adage "money and knowledge are there to be shared" I wish to continue shareing with others what little I know . How ever my experience in the Tamil Brahmins Forum is that subjects of serious nature do not have reader support.

Warm Regards,
Brahmanyan,
Bangalore.

Sri Brahmanyan

it is "tks" :-)
Thanks for your comments.

I think if one judges the postings in the general section 'subjects of serious nature' may not appear to have reader support.

Out of 20000 members there are probably 300+ viewers/ readers who are reasonably regular. A small number of people post messages (my guess is about 20+). A few who post a lot may appear to give a character to this forum but the forum is much larger than this.

In fact most initial posts have about 70 to 100 views right away. It drops to 20 to 10 per post as soon as known few begin to add their responses. That means 10 to 20 follow all such threads and no more. That is extremely small.

In many other sections the views are more like 100 to 150 views per message.

The sample from this section is not representative of the total readership in my view.

But the forum does not have loyal readership who visit regularly. I think creation of useful content will help the site to attract many more people.
It is not my goal to attract more readers but if I were the forum owner I will be interested in that goal :-)

I think the 'expert's corner' as nothing more than a section where a poster has taken time to provide a well articulated post with useful content.

I think Smt VR can provide a lot also though I have not seen her participate in many of the forum sections.

In any case I respect your decision.

Dear Sri "tks",

First please accept my apologies for mixup of names. I have corrected the mistake now.

Well, Smt Visalakshi Ramani is a versatile writer, who has written many Articles covering various subjects
in her Blog which is available in the weblink http://visalakshiramani.weebly.com/.

Some times versatile writers also present info which is not supported by any evidence and when questioned just threaten the poor questioner with nothing short of annihilation. They some times also exhibit their phobia.

As long as such behaviour is not repeated, their versatility will be enjoyed and welcome.

I would not have bothered in the normal circumstances. As the appeals are very passionate i wanted to add a note of caution. An apology is still owed to me and I am waiting indefenitely. LOL.

You have still not clearly understood the versatile (Changeable or inconstant) meaning!
