Dear RR ji,

I dont want to open the link cos I dont like to see sentimental touching scenes..but can you just tell me what the video is all about? Reading is less personal..so I prefer to read what the U tube link is all about instead of seeing it.

Dear Renu,

A special girl child on wheel chair and her dad brings her on stage and moves the chair around for sometime. Then he carries

that little girl, holds one of her hands and does dancing movements. Girl is happy and smiles a lot. Finally he kisses her cheek

and leaves her on the chair again. The girl is so cute and I felt why she is unable to jump and dance like other kids of her age!

Dear RR ji,

Thanks..from your explanation I am 100% sure its not an Indian Father.
Indian males seldom show how they feel.

Yes Renu! Here is a note about that girl:

''McKenzie Michelle Carey is 11 years old. She was born on April 20, 2002.

She has a life threatening disease called mitochondria.

God has a special plan for our angel. There is hope for our babygirl''
.

Dr Renu

I do not think the dad and his daughter show any kind of emotion other than just having a good time.

It is at best a portrayal of true affection by a father to his daughter. People may feel sentimental or feel a sense of happiness seeing the video - I dont think the video itself has any special display of emotions besides two people having fun dancing notwithstanding the circumstances.

Dear TKS ji,

Somehow emotions create sentiments in the human mind..I am not really into all that..prefer not too.

When something is impersonal and less emotional..its easier to watch.

When I see a movie/scene/video I prefer to be a spectator and not feel any emotions.

For example watching porn is easier than watching a romantic movie cos porn is less personal..no emotions involved.

I think you can understand now what I mean!LOL

Ready for round 2 debate :-) ?

Emotions do not create sentiments in the human mind.. Emotion is an attribute of the mind !
The exact emotions that a given event or scene evokes is largely in the mind of the beholder ..

Many people watch movies to feel the emotions knowing that they can get out of the feelings just by knowing it is just a movie.

Anyway the video I posted is about affection. The father knows the reality and yet he has real fun not worried about the future but enjoying the present moment of a dance with his daughter. He has truly accepted his daughter and loves her exactly the way she is.

If someone tears up it is because their mind is too emotional ..

Its nice to know about the affection a father has for his daughter but its just that I prefer not to see such videos.

Its not about tearing up/crying etc..its just that I prefer fast moving scenes/horror/Cop flicks/Court room scenes/scandalous scenes..BTW I like the series Scandal where Kerry Washington plays a role of a powerful African American Lady who is having an affair with the US President!

I like such scandalous movies cos its keeps the mind racing without getting emotions involved.

All this sentimental Deviga Kadhal movies cock and bull types I dont care to watch.

Though we are way past the so called Father's day here is a video essay that seemed appropriate in this thread.
It originally aired in 1993 when I actually watched it in News Program (by Public Broadcasting Station) - PBS live.
Recently someone sent me this link since it is uploaded in Youtube

For Indians everyday is a Father's Day and Mother's Day :-)

Some of you will like this video essay
