Yearly we have Mariammman festival in delhi
among the rituals , they have fire walking also
devotees many of them ladies walk on burning coal nonchalantly holding children in their arms they do not appear to get hurt
all the labour class tamils participate in the festival and some undertake this ritual
my cook goes every year for the festival and does the ritual holding her grand child ,
she is not hurt by the fire
will someone explain what is the background to this and why people who do this firewalk do not get hurt

it requires supreme court also for changing these practices . they have acted on jallikattu which also sarangji , the bull fighter would have relished in the past
