[h=1]Google is patenting a new Smartwatch that takes your blood[/h] December 4, 2015 Kishore Ganesh Leave a comment Edit
Most fitness trackers on the market are just a bunch of simple motion-driven sensors that feed data into software that merely quantifies your exercises and vainly tries to motivate your to exercise. There are no meaningful insights, and you can’t understand what exactly is going on with your body.
Google is now applying to patent a new technology that can be embedded in future wearables. Using an ultra-small needle, some blood is extracted into a small container, from where it can be analyzed. Through the blood, one can know his/her glucose levels, hydration levels, etc. Blood provides a lot of useful information that can be useful to professionals.
Now this is just a patent, and that doesn’t mean that it will be implemented in future wearables, but the concept itself is certainly interesting.
What do you think? Can more data make fitness trackers actually useful?
