New study with a large sample! 65000 is a big no and also it is random with no preselected illness...Eating 7 times with a large portion of vegetables and fruits will reduce heart ailments, stroke and Cancer..A whopping 42% lower risk of death!

In India we eat for 3 times..

We need to eat less every time but frequency of eating should be increased...More the vegetables the better it is for our health

Fruit and vegetable intake: five a day may not be enough, scientists say | UK news | The Guardian

LOL!

This is madness!

One has to take into account the carbohydrate content of fruits and vegetables when taken in too large quantities.

Fruits have fructose which when taken in excess can shoot up Insulin levels and which then causes a dip in blood sugar only to make you hungry again.

High circulating levels of Insulin favor fat deposition.

Too much fiber in diet can also speed up intestinal transit time to the extent that there is no time for even absorption of nutrients.

I dont really want to believe everything I read these days..I feel moderation is the key word.

For that we can observe animals in the wild..they do not over eat anything.
Even though we humans brag to be the most evolved in the evolution scale I still feel we can learn a lot when we observe animals in the wild.

Just be moderate in whatever we eat and nothing can really go all that wrong.

Ancient SiddhAs say:

ஒரு வேளை உண்பவன் யோகி (இறையனுபவம் காண்பான்)

One who eats once is 'yOgi' ( finds methods to experience God)

இரு வேளை உண்பவன் போகி (உலக இன்பத்தில் திளைப்பான்)

One who eats twice is 'bhOgi' ( indulges in worldly pleasures)

மூவேளை உண்பவன் ரோகி (நோயாளி)

One who eats thrice is 'rOgi' (patient!)

Eating seven times a day! :nono:

In all stretch of imagination eating 7 times a day appears to be too much. Let us not get in different types of issues like overweight related complications by earing 7 times a day. 3 good meals are OK - may be a little bit snack if the difference in time is more than 6 hours - Ideally monring 7 AM, then 1 PM and small snack at 5 PM and dinner within 5 hours (half quantity) should be fine. Any dietician member or Dr. R and others may give their views on this.
