A recent survey revealed that early birds do get the worms..and the happiness award early risers have been shown to feel happier and heal their than night owls.

Why no one thought of the worm and only thought of the bird?

For some people moods are like the moon..its waxes and wanes and some become were wolves on full moon nights!

How to deal with sensitive teeth

Tooth sensitivity is a major concern of many patients say city doctors, especially in this season when the season is changing.

Dr Karishma Jaradi, aesthetic dentist says, "Change in season can harbinger dental problems specially for those prone to sensitivity. Tooth pain triples during this time. For some individuals it could be temporary but for many it could be very severe and take a toll and become permanent if proper care isn't taken."

The causes of tooth sensitivity may vary from one individual to another. But, irrespective of the age, sensitivity is a problem for everyone.
Dr Rani Shah, dentist, says, "Whether it's that rush of cold, fresh air or that sweet and tangy taste of seasonal fruits to hot and sour soups, tooth sensitivity is no easy 'zing' to bear. Dental sensitivity (that sudden, sharp bolt of pain) is usually the result of exposed roots due to gingival recession, which is the movement of gums away from the crown of the tooth. Unlike the outer surface of the tooth crown, the root has no protection against the cold stimuli." Decayed teeth can lead to discomfort and pain. Exposed nerve roots, often from receding gums may cause sensitivity. The gums that recede over time, exposing the underlying root surface dentin are also one of the reasons for teeth sensitivity.Improper or vigorous brushing or usage of brush that has hard bristles may cause sensitivity. Tooth whitening and polishing products may be major contributors to sensitive teeth.

Dr Hima Shah, dentist, says, "Eat the right food and maintain a balanced diet. Lot of vitamin and mineral deficiencies also causes dental problems. Eating high-fibre foods keeps the saliva flowing, which helps in creating mineral defenses against sensitivity. Good sources of fibre are dried fruits such as dates, raisins and figs, and fresh fruits like bananas and apples."

Use toothpastes for sensitive teeth with desensitising agents. It works by blocking off the dentinal tubules, so that the nerves don't get stimulated. Put a certain amount of paste on your finger and directly apply on the sore spot and gently massage it.
-Brush your teeth gently after meals and then floss to clean them thoroughly.
-Use mouthwash after every meal you eat.
-Avoid citric drinks and aerated beverages.
-Stay away from too cold and too hot and spicy foods.
-Sweet food will worsen the situation, once the outer layer of the tooth i.e. enamel is damaged. Sugary foods have easier access to the nerves of your teeth, which can cause sharp and shooting pain.
-Calcium is a prime ingredient for preventing tooth problems. Dairy is a great source along with other options like broccoli, almonds, nuts and dried beans.
-To maintain your oral hygiene and to get rid of sensitivity one must regularly visit the dentist to keep a check on all the factors that may lead to sensitivity issues.

Bad dental habits

Teeth play a very important role in our daily routine. Though the only purpose of teeth is to help us chew, we use it for more than this.

We tear packets, cans, open bottles and even hold pens, pencils and pins. But have you ever thought that some of your daily dental habitsmay wreck your teeth as well as your smile?

Tearing or opening bottles with your teeth might look like a cool and impressive thing to do, but according to Dr N Ramesh, a dentist, "Using your teeth to open or tear stuffs like packets and bottles can crack or chip them." While opening bottles can easily chip your teeth, opening packets can displace the position of your tooth. This can cause a wide gap between your teeth, which is why it's better to use scissors or knife to open or tear stuff.

Many people think that ice is natural and sugar free and there is no harm in chewing it. But only a few know that it is too hard for your teeth to break ice. Dr Preetha K, an oral hygiene expert, points out, "Apart from chipping or damaging your teeth, eating too hot or too cold items also affect the sensitivity of the teeth. Apart from these habits, another thing that can damage your teeth is tongue piercing. There is no second opinion that tongue or lip piercing make you stand apart and add a fun quotient to your personality. "However," says Dr Preetha, "It may risk the health of your teeth. The metal stud can break your tooth and creates the risk of bacteria and sore. If the damage is ignored you might have to lose a tooth."
True, bedtime drinks like milk or juice is good for your health, but not for your teeth. Dr Ramesh says, "This habit can cause tooth decay that spoils your teeth completely. Especially, avoid bedtime bottles for your baby." It is also important to brush your teeth before hitting the bed. Red wine that you thought is good for health, with all the researches supporting it, isn't good for the teeth.
Although drinking red wine is good for hair, skin and health, it has acids that reduce the teeth enamel and make them prone to stains. The red and rich red wine stays on your teeth and changes their colour.

1. Clean your pores

Research and studies keep changing from time to time...sometimes they contradict one another.

The best is to live a life of moderation and do not get worked up reading too many "how to remain healthy articles"

We can take all the precautions under the sun but we can never know how death will approach us.

So relax..be cool try not to worry and do not be an extremist of any kind.

Try not to be overly spiritual or overly religious too..just be moderate in everything you do.

Enjoy life too..break rules sometimes..a rigid life can be boring too but make sure whatever we do is still within legal limits and do not land in jail.

Jail is no fun..God knows who will be our cell mate and God knows what might happen!LOL

I have been undergoing a MHC everyyear and my health is not only normal but also stable under all parameters. Thank you for your advice addressed to all.

i pay 10 k insurance for my mom - senior citizen red carpet scheme from one of the companies, prevents the money-heart-attack atleast for some definite illnesses.
