Sarangji - consider this as a final warning. Posting totally unrelated stuff including things that are deragotory to Hinduism is not accepted. Just because some western scholar says something against us does not mean it can be taken as the truth.

Anyways, this is the last call and stop posting things that are very sensitive.

As a matter of fact, Hinduism's core teachings that are geared towards attaining a state free of emotions itself is a recipe for a fearless mind contrary to common belief that Hindus are not brave enough. I think their shunning of violence has largely been misinterpreted and has resulted in this misconception.

Sri.Sravna Sir, Greetings.

While I agree with your point of view, I did come across instances where non-violence is not the answer. We need not be violent at all; but there are times we have to stand up against assult against Hinduism. We should not be seen walking away very quietly. That would be seen as weakness. Personally, I don't follow any religion; don't subscribe to any caste; but I don't like to walk away when someone gets taunted or get bullied in the name of religion or caste. Personally I think Hindus need to put on some muscle if they don't want to be wiped out completely in the future.

Cheers!

Dear Shri Raghy,

Yes actually I too agree with your point of view but if at all force is used it should be to not let injustice prevail so that we always keep the big picture in sight.

Absolutely true, Shri Sravna!! In our attempts to defend we should not end up indulging in injustice and cruelty. If the mind and the heart remains pure, right things will fall in its right place at the right time.

The political drama of destroying the mosque in India, in the pretext of upholding Hindus right has lead to horrific violence, bled shed and strengthening of hatred that helped external forces to get the internal support.

Having said that, we should know that, the strategies of Chanakya is certainly required in this Kali yuga such that the acts performed to uphold Hinduism would not lead to injustice and sufferings of innocents.

In the words of Chanakya - "A Person should not be too Honest. Straight Trees are cut first and Honest People are S****ed first.

ahimsa - Sri Sri Aurobindo

“Aggression is unjust only when unprovoked, violence unrighteous when used wantonly or for unrighteous ends. It is a barren philosophy which applies a mechanical rule to all actions, or takes a word [non-violence] and tries to fit all human life into it… Ramdas is not complete without Shivaji. To maintain justice and prevent the strong from despoiling and the weak from being oppressed is the function for which the Kshatriya was created. Therefore, says Sri krishna in the Mahabharat, God created battle and armour, the sword, the bow and the dagger.”- Sri Aurobindo

One can practice non-violence and many Indians are doing so. India has been invaded by others only. Because they think we will attack them because they do all non-sense with us. It will probably end up with one-side affair. You can even kill a cow if it charges to gore you to death. It requires lot of mental strength to remain non-violent, but it requires lot of tank-load, ship-load and plane-load of ammunition to live to be non-violent. The 'violent' would have frittered his energy every now and then, but the 'non-violent' has a lot of stored up energy.
