How a brahmin should marry a brahmin ?

Dear members and well wishers of our community. I hope you all will agree that these days we can see many of our brahmin community marriages are happening with other caste. It is seen that today's generation are not following the true brahmin family values and traditions. It is painful to hear from someone who may be a true brahmin parents or family when their son's or daughters are taking their own decision in choosing their life partner of other caste. If this trend goes on like this, i am sure that one day we will all regret of being a brahmin and loose our respect in the so called religious society of India. Let us not blame others but blame ourselves who are responsible to follow and save our traditional values and lead our brahmin generations ahead. According to me we all can unite only when we have respect to our community and pledge to take care of our family and fellow members and become a Role Model to our younger generations.

Dear Sir,

Just for your kind info.

1) This is a highly progressive and pragmatic platform where such concerns are considered primitive, biased, oppressive and as demonstrating Superiority & dictating terms. Any views in support of your concern would possibly attract criticism and personal attack on members.

2) In reality, these changes are beyond any possible stream lining as they are personal choice of living.

3) In this Globalized, fast moving and challenging environment, personal happiness and fulfillment are of top priority. Thus, the interest of the specific society as a whole is not of serious concern.

4) Changes are inevitable and in fact would lead to formation of a better society as long a Brahmins are changing. Because, being a Brahmin and existence of a Brahmin society is a plague in Indian Society.

PS. All my above points are as per my personal observations and understanding. It has nothing to do with supporting or opposing the Opening Post / Opening Poster.

What if there are some Brahmins who other Brahmins refuse to marry? Should they be forever denied family happiness and conjugal bliss?

Two of my nephews are finding it difficult to get married because their salaries do not match the aspirations of Tamil Brahmin girls. The girls want to marry only an engineer. What is the option for the non-engineer boys?

Sir,

I can understand your anguish. But let me invite your kind attention to this post.
If a sizeable number from among us are ready to form a brahmin community similar to the Amish, we may be able to resuscitate our brAhmanism. Otherwise, let us allow time to decide the fate of our caste/community.

dear subbu,

personally, i think, what you see in the matrimonial forums and websites, reflects the reality. there is no hidden agenda. or hidden girls, who are going to appear out of no where or somewhere and be brides to our currently large crop of bachelors.

this is what i would do if faced with similar situation: prioritize myself into what is most imporatant and rank it as below

- need to get son married
- 1st preference tambram bride
- 2nd choice - other south indian brahmin bride
- 3rd choice - north indian brahmin bride
- 4th choice - other tamil vegetarian bride (or willing to become vegetarian)
- 5th choice - orphan bride willing to learn tambram way of life and be happy for this opportunity in life
- 6th choice - leave son to find his own spouse, whatever she may be, and let him be happy with it
- no choice - status quo

the ranking of choices is left upto you. but it is important to timebox each. because without it you are not going to achieve the result.

it is like any I.T. project - start, end, with results, and efforts spend on the various life cycles.

i would not chase the moon, stars or pariharams. faith should NOT be used to bargain with God for something in return. it is guaranteed to fail, one time or the other, sooner or later. such type of faith is shallow, and it is these who switch gods and religions, on hearing a word, that some god delivers, and others are deaf. what type of faith is that?

best wishes to your nephews. i always believe there is someone out there for these boys. but may not be to your specifications. sometimes it is essential for the peg to adjust, and change its shape, to fit into the hole. :)

God Bless.

Inbreeding causes genetic diseases which manifest especially as poor vision, hereditary diseases etc all of which are especially prevalent among Tamil Brahmins. I would personally impregnate a Nordic blonde or Amazonian woman if & when I want to reproduce.

I am curious, why you chose female brawn? In any case, good match for TB brain I think. Unless of course the nightmare of George Bernard Shaw comes true. :)

Blondes are pretty smart actually, contrary to popular perception. The Nordic peoples have higher IQs.
