How to be Happy

Our swaroopam is sat-chit-aanandham.

Anandham is the natural state of a human being.

But since we have moved far far away from the Lord (Eswar)

into the world (jagath) we have lost our real identity and real

natural state of mind! We are seeking outside what lies inside!!!
 
I remember Sathya Sai Baba saying that many people ask Him:

"I want Peace/Happiness"..Baba used to say just remove the word I Want.

Is this not easier said not done...If there is no want or desire how will there be change...Change happens only if there is a dissatisfaction of the present
 
Man is complete in himself. It is only when he wants to change all the problems actually start. In aanmeegam we are told to
JUST BE and never to JUST BECOME!

Change need not occur due to dissatisfaction... thats a sign of frustration or escapism.

Desires can just shed off from us when we view life in a different perspective.

Most people have desires actually more for to compete with others.

You know you are going to laugh when you hear this..want to know the heights of desire?

Ok my grandmum passed away 2 months ago and for the funeral I bought for her a lovely pink saree.

Sometime last week one of my relatives called to ask me where I bought that saree cos one lady who attended the funeral was asking "who bought that saree and from which shop did the person purchase it from..cos its so lovely"

The lady wanted to know where she could buy the same saree.
I was thinking "OMG what a desire!! that even the garment worn by the dead can induce a desire to purchase"
 
குரங்குப்பிடி, தர்மஅடி!



ஆசைதான் எல்லாத் துன்பத்திற்கும் காரணம்,
ஆர்தான் மறுக்க முடியும் இந்த உண்மையை?
பாசம் என்றால் கயிறு, நம்மை பலவாறு
பந்தப் படுத்தும் பார்க்க முடியாத கயிறு!

எது எதையெல்லாம் விட்டு விடுகிறோமோ,
அது அதனால் நமக்குத் துன்பம் இல்லை!
“யாதனின் யாதனின் நீங்கியான், நோதல்
அதனின் அதனின் இலன்” அல்லவா?

காலைப் பற்றி தொங்கும்போதே நம்மை
காலால் எற்றும் உரிமையை அளிக்கிறோம்.
வைக்கும் இடத்தில வைக்கப்பட்டால் தான்,
கைப்பாவையாய் நம்மை ஆட்டிப் படையார்.

குறுகிய வாயுடைய ஒரு சிறிய ஜாடி,
பொரி கடலையால் நிரம்பி மணக்கும்;
மறு எண்ணம் இல்லாமல் கையை விட்டு
நிரம்ப அள்ளும் அறியாக் குரங்கு!

கையும் மாட்டிக்கொண்டது ஜாடியில்,
மெய்யும் மாட்டிக்கொண்டது மனிதனிடம்!
கையை விட்டால் தான் விடுதலை.
கையை விட்டால் இல்லை கடலை!

கடலையா அல்லது விடுதலையா? என்று
உடனடி முடிவு எடுக்க வேண்டும் குரங்கு.
ஒன்று கிடைக்காமலே போகலாம்,
இரண்டுமே கிடைக்காமலும் போகலாம்!

மரத்திடம் சென்று வலியப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு ,
மரம் எனை விடுவதில்லை என்பது போல;
உலகை நாமே வலியப் பற்றிக்கொண்டு,
உலகம் நம்மை விடவில்லை என்போம்!

யாருக்காகவும் எதுவுமே நிற்காது,
உருண்டு ஓடும் உலகம் முன்னோக்கி!
தான் இல்லாத உலகம் நின்றுவிடும் என்று,
தன்னைத் தானே ஏய்த்துக் கொள்வானேன்?

“பந்தமா முக்தியா”? முடிவு நமதே.
“பாசமா பக்தியா”? முடிவு நமதே.
“குறையா நிறையா”? முடிவு நமதே.
“சிறையா விடுதலையா”? முடிவு நமதே.

“இன்பமா துன்பமா”? முடிவு நமதே.
“இவ்வுலகமா வீடு பேறா”? முடிவு நமதே.
இத்தனை முடிவுகளும் நம்மிடம் இருக்க,
பித்தரைப் போல துயர் அடைவதேன்?

வாழ்க வளமுடன்,
 விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

“ஆசை தான் துன்பத்துக்கு காரணம்”,
ஆர் தான் அறியார் இதை எனினும்,
ஆசையை அறுத்தவர் யார் உள்ளார்?
அலைந்து தேட வேண்டும் உலகில்!

ஆசைகள் நிரம்பிய மனமானது, ஒரு
ஓட்டைக் குடம்; என்றுமே நிறையாது!
ஆசைகளை நிறைவேற்ற முயன்றால்,
ஓங்கும் அவை, நெய் இட்ட நெருப்பாக!

மத யானைகள் போல் வலம் வருகின்ற,
மனதின் ஆசைகளை அடக்கத் தேவை,
விவேகம் என்ற ஒரு கூரிய அங்குசம்;
வைராக்கியம் எனும் ஒரு இரும்புச் சங்கிலி.

ஆசை கொண்ட மனத் தராசின் முள்,
ஈசனை விட்டு விலகியே நிற்கும்;
ஆசை, செய்த தவத்தைக் கெடுக்கும்;
ஆசை, வளர்த்த பக்தியை அழிக்கும்.

பிறவிப் பிணி என்னும் முள் மரத்தின்,
மறுக்க முடியாத வித்துக்கள் ஆசைகளே!
அஞ்சி அகன்றிடுவீர் ஆசைகளில் இருந்து;
வஞ்சித்து வாழ்வை அழித்திடும் அவைகள்.

துன்பத்துக்கு இனிய முகமன் கூறி,
துன்பக் கடலில் நம்மைத் தள்ளும் ஆசை;
இன்பத்துக்கு விடை கொடுத்து அனுப்பி,
இன்பத்தை விலக்கி வைக்கும் ஆசை.

ஆசைகள் குறைந்து அழியும் போது,
லேசாகிவிடும் மனிதனின் மனது;
லேசாகிய மனமே உயர எழும்பும்;
ஈசனை நாடும்; பிறவியை நீக்கும்.

 வாழ்க வளமுடன்,
 விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.
 
When we "become" we keep on becoming into
newer and newer avatars all the time.
From an infant into a child,
from a child into a student,
from a student into graduate,
from a graduate into an employee,
from an employee into a bride / groom,
from a bride or groom into a parent,
from a parent into a grandparent etc.
There is no end to this chain of "becoming."
When we just exists or BE our real selves,
it is constant and remains unchanged throughout our lives.

சரீரமும், சம்சாரமும்!



மாறுவது மனித சரீரமும், சம்சாரமும்;
மாறாமல் என்றும் இருப்பது இறை ஒன்றே!
எத்தனை பருவங்கள்; எத்தனை உருவங்கள்!
எத்தனை ஆசைகள்; எத்தனை திட்டங்கள்!

நான்கு கால் பிராணிபோல் தவழும் குழவி;
நன்றாகத் திகழும் அழகிய வாலிபம்;
ஊன்று கோலுடன் மூன்று கால் முதுமை;
ஊதினாலே விழுந்துவிடும் வயோதிகம்!

விளையாட்டுப் பிள்ளையின் பருவம்;
விளை நிலமாக உள்ளத்தை ஆக்கும்
பள்ளிப் பருவம், கல்லூரி, தொடர்ந்து
பணியில் பணம் பண்ணும் பருவம்!

திருமணப் பருவம்; பெற்றோர் ஆகித்
திரும்பிப் பார்க்கும் முன், பிள்ளைகளே
திருமணத்துக்கு தயாராக இருப்பார்!
திரும்பவும் பெறுவோம் பேரன், பேத்திகள்!

கடல் அலைகள் ஓய்ந்தாலும் ஓயலாம்;
கண நேரமும் ஓயாது சம்சார அலைகள்!
கணத்துக்கு கணம் மாறிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்
கரை காணாக் கடலே இந்த சம்சாரம்!

சம்சார சாகரத்தைக் கடந்து சென்று,
சாயுஜ்யம் என்பதை அடைவது எப்படி?
மாயையின் சக்தியை ஒரு மனிதனால்
மாலவன் உதவி இன்றி அடக்க முடியாது!

கடலைக் கடக்க உதவும் படகாக மாறிக்
கடவுளின் திருநாமமே நமக்கு உதவும்.
விடாமல் பற்றிக்கொண்டே இருந்தால்
விடிவு காலம் வரும்; இது சத்தியம்!

மாறும் சரீரத்தையும், சம்சாரத்தையும்,
மனத்தில் எண்ணிக் கவலை கொள்ளோம்!
தேறும் வழியைத் தேடிக் கண்டுகொண்டு
தேவன் திருவடிகளைப் பற்றிடுவோம்!

வாழ்க வளமுடன்,
 விசாலாக்ஷி ரமணி.

This is the objective of the thread...Life has its trials and tribulations...How to overcome all of that & be happy...Happiness drives efficiency..When we are happy we are more productive in work..When we are happy we radiate happiness...This makes others happy too ...Let us try to make our families happy...then our group happy...then society happy...

When we get up early in the morning we start with worries...The worrisome thoughts convert into actions which create a chain reaction....How do we overcome the worries, get positive thoughts so that we are energised, radiate energy, positivity & happiness

I am reminded of the following quote:

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”

"Today is a new and beautiful day full of opportunities both good and bad for all of us. Your mission today is to realize that no matter what happens we are all blessed and that is because we are blessed from the love within ourselves and not by a love outside of ourselves. Good and bad will come and go, support will come and go, your situations will change but one thing will never change and that is that each and every one of you have the keys to providing yourselves with the love and space you need to grow and flourish with you every step of the way throughout life. Aum Namah Sivaya."

Dear Sri vgane Ji,

I agree that this is the case 75% of the time (a vast majority) but growth brings change as well and is not sourced in dissatisfaction at all but is rather a progression down (or up!) a natural pathway.

me to join the forum after eying my blogs in

Elder sister, you need to know that, in the beginning, I received PMs from some folks asking why we would publish such 'homilies'.

But you and your younger sister have contributed more to this Forum and more importantly to our community than any rest of us put together.
