Indians target of home invasions in New Jersey - Rediff.com India News

Residents of the neighbourhood are anxious after masked gunmen broke into 4 desi homes in New Jersey. Many of them are disappointed over the police’s response to the violent crimes. Arthur J Pais reports from New Jersey.
 
i am only surprised that this hasn't happened so far. indians are suspected to hoard gold.. more so, in our weddings, whether it be in usa or india, women tend to show off their most grand gold and diamond jewellery.

a hold up in a wedding can net millions of dollars worth. maybe its time we also hired security guards for our weddings.. seriously!!

now its HOLIDAY SEASON in USA....FROM THANKSGIVING TO CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR...THESE THINGS ARE COMMON/CAN BE EXPECTED..
 
In delhi south inidan ladies are victims of chain snatching . they are the only ones who wear gold jewellery full time on all days . Others wear only on occassions like weddings.

also these ladies are considered easy targets as they do not fight back.
 
Years back, the zari border of one mAmi was cut off by a person hiding below her seat, in a railway coach!

She was engrossed in a serious discussion with her friend that only while alighting the train did she notice her 'mini' saree! :spy:
 
My son's neighbors in Boston are Punjabis and they installed a huge safe, a few days prior to their two weeks trip to India.

Within a week, the safe was broken and all jewels and cash stolen. There is no burglars alarm and so, no one knew about

the theft till their son came to see the house during that week end! No breakthrough in that case for nearly two years, now.

Dont they have saftey lockers in the Banks there like it is here ? When goingon vacation best thing to do is to deposit your jewellary and other valuables in the Bank saftey deposit locker .

They thought they were smart by NOT wasting the rent (money) on bank lockers! Now they lost all their savings.

The suspects are the guys from the shop who installed the safe in their house. But no one is arrested so far.
