This link is from the home page of this forum out of an advt. that occupied the space on the right side of the screen10 minutes ago! But adminstration seems insensitive about this!

Bollywood Auditions In 1951 Looked Something Like This - bollywood.bhaskar.com

I think it is a malware that got embedded in your system. I too get the ad on and off and it appears on many other web pages too.

When I log in from another computer which obviously is not infested with this malware, I do not see the ad.

I have been unsuccessful so far to know as to where the exe file has got itself hidden. So if you or anyone else reading this thread, have a solution please do share here. My operating system is Windows 7. My anti virus software obviously does not look at this as malware or adware or harmful.

I think vgane might be the right person.

All advertisements are handled by a third party agency with whom this site has been signed up.
There is limited control over what is shown.
Having said that, what is shown is dependent on
1. From where the visitor (you, me or the casual reader) is from.
2. Their browsing history - meaning what they have seen before, what kind of content they have read etc... While this site does not track any such behaviour, the browsers do so and share them with agencies. We have no control on this.

Frankly, there is nothing sensitive or insensitive about this simply because none of the advertisers signup directly with us. So we do not, consciously, place ads or choose them.

This site is signed up with 3 agencies with whom we have very clearly asked for the ads to be family friendly. Sometimes a few slip by but they are banned as soon as possible when brought to notice.

May 4th Update:

I have checked with the agencies and they have said the advertisement mentioned is not part of their system.
I have also manually checked the adverts shown and i was not able to see anything like that.

So the most logical guess would be a malware or an adware on the computer.
