inter action between parents of NRI living in Madras

Parents of NRI ,whose children live in U.S Canada & other countries can think of interacting & try to know each other families would go a long way to be useful , especially for aged Tamil Brahmin Parents., in many ways .Let us introduce ourselves in this new thread & start knowing each other families, so that we will develop acquaintance first to start with .
I and my wife volunteer to co-ordinate ,in this common effort. I am a retired Central Govt Officer from Defense Ordnance Factories Service and my wife Mrs Janaki is a learned Astrologer. I am 80 yrs & she is 71 years of age. We are agile & active.
Let us start this idea to gain momentum , for benefit of all Tamil Brahmins. First, we desire response from those parents who live in Madras.

Ram and I live in west K K Nagar in SingArach Chennai. ( I like to call Madras in that way!)

Our son is settled in Boston with his wife and a two year old daughter.

WE are green card holders, but we are not eligible for medical benefits or Aids from State Governments from US for health related problems; so my son always buys medical insurance cover for us through INSUBUY,
you can visit this site,Visitor Insurance - Visitor Medical Insurance for USA. Visitor Health Insurance for relatives visiting United States for further details.
I think the Plans are much cheaper than some of Plans offered by some Indian Insurance companies.
However you can check up the rates and compare them before finalizing any overseas medical insurance from locally.
The plus point with these American Insurance is that the claims are settled without much fuss.

Raji Ram, If you are a Sai Devotee and interested to attend really well organised Sai Bhajan, please visit Kodambakkam Samithi, which is in Directors Colony, neat Pillayar Temple.
Whenever i go to Chennai, whenever possible, i attend Sai Bhajans there. Sairam Nagarajan is the Convener.
Many times devotees have witnessed Viboothi materializing from Sri Sathya Sai Baba Picture kept over there.
The Way they conduct Sai Bhajans are really different from other Samithis, and you will surely enjoy the Bajans and get the blessings of Baba.

Also i would like to give a suggestion to those who visit US for 6 months or less and return.
Please do get COMBAT Tablets from Wal-Mart shop; the pack contains a dozen tablets.
These tablets are odorless, completely covered, and you can put it in cub boards, kitchen shelves. These tablets are very effective in keeping cockroaches away for 6 to 12 months.
Whenever we return to India we get them from from WAL-MART , and use it before we again go back to US.

I do not want to dampen your spirits. But please go through this thread Meeting in 'Person'

TVK Sir initiated the meeting and I offered to entertain about 20 persons at my residence. One young gentleman who

was to fly to Denmark that night joined us. Only Dr. Smt. Narayani, Mrs and Mr TVK could make it for the meeting! My

sister VR mam and her husband were with me at that time. So, in total we were only eight! Probably, most of the forum
members want to be only forum friends and not real friends!! :grouphug:
