A Chennai born South Indian brahmin lady note styled in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The then Chennai and present Chennai is so different and I now feel alien to this city. Our Brahmin community why haven't been prominent apart from magnifying IT people in high post in USA are brahmins from South India.

Recently, I had lost my father and I did feel his loss but equally I found that the purohits flourish in this time. It's become a business and even Madras for the departed soul just competed in 1 hours time. Are we doing justice to that panditham, is this questions raised within the purihits, I doubt. I felt so sorry that the expenses for performing marriage is much more less than the expenses met out for performing the rituals for departed soul.

What should be? Proud to be an Tamil Brahmin or feel ashamed to see the business flourishing on someone's loss.

See ya. Me, Shanthi Vaidyanathan.
