Introductory note

I have joined because I am a Tamil Brahmin.

We have settled outside TamilNadu for over half a century and now we have a feeling of being lost.

We do not belong here and we have no roots over there.

The previous generation has passed away.   We ignored the traditions because we thought that the elders would be taking care of that.   Now that the elders have gone, the sense of loss is immense.  I do suppose that there would be many like me.

Anyway, one of the reasons of joining this discussion form is to get back to my roots.

In the form of music, traditions, customs, dress, prayers, food etc etc

Being from outside, we have learnt to adapt.  This does not mean that we reject our basic traditions.

I do look froward to a new thread - The Lost Tamil Brahmin.

Somebody could start it so like-minded members could join in

With the warmest regards to everyone,

Sridar Sangamneswaraier
