May be because all brahmin rituals done like kasi yathra, malai matrudhal oonjal and appa madiyil daughter while thali but costumes are not like Brahmins that is what I told in my previous reply that boy's family will be shy in wearing costume without shirt if they want to adopt brahmin's style. Here all wear casually but rituals brahminical. In one YT one person asked the question thali is different kind when Srinivas is brahmin. This is second daughter's marriage. In first daughter's marriage singer itself wearing iyengar costume while daughter was wearing iyer costume
