Really sad! We are going back to medieval times! Looks like there is no sane voice there in Iraq & Syria! Rampaging mobs are destroying the country and doing a great disservice to mankind! Now 4 millions women are threatened with this barbaric practice!

ISIS jihadists order genital mutilation of all women in Iraq - The Times of India


Jihadists in Iraq have ordered that all women between the ages of 11 and 46 must undergo female genital mutilation, which could affect up to four million women and girls in the war-ravaged country, a UN official said Thursday.

The UN's second most senior official in Iraq, Jacqueline Badcock, said, "It is a fatwa (or religious edict) from ISIS, we learnt about it this morning. We have no precise numbers."

The Islamic State, formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), took over large swathes of the country last month and has begun imposing its extreme Salafist interpretation of Islam.

Badcock said that if you took UN population figures as a guide, around "four million girls and women could be affected".

Well I was in another forum where young Hindu males were glorifying the Sati System calling it the Golden age and when will it come back again...adding that its the Vedic duty of a woman to accompany her husband when he dies and Sati is an act of total devotion of a wife to her husband and fire will burn her body in a cold flame that causes no pain!


So I think Jihadism is infecting the minds of males..Hindu or Non Hindu!

Their mind is always around females in some form or the other.


Genital mutilation is different from circumcision in females..these involves removing much more than needed..cutting off parts that lead to a female orgasm so females do not have any sexual pleasure and just be a portal of entry for males.

If a portal is all these males want..why not try drilling a water melon and using it!

I do not - in all the years I have lived - come across anyone that talked about SATI system and wanting it.


The OP is about country wide violence by ISIS potentially affecting millions of women.

By bringing Sati comments of some fringe group and by drawing equivalence to the action of ISIS you are only revealing your prejudices ... Plus it demeans the seriousness of the report

So Raga and Dwesha is neither bad nor good - it depends on the circumstances. It could be benign.
When I referred to it last time it was in the context of that discussion. You can ask questions and I will answer if I have an answer or clarification provided the intent is genuine to understand. If you already have an opinion I may not engage unless I can learn from that engagement,.

I am not ware about this particular Hindu group! It did not appear in the MSM either! In India MSM is controlled by the leftists and pseudo secularists! How come this was missed by them! They would have pounced upon it had it been part of the Sangh Parivar!

So it is clear that the group you are talking about is a fringe group with no mainstream support..At best it can be a Rajput group (Kshatriyas where this practice was predominant!)

Coming to the OP, ISIS is running amok in Iraq & Syria..They are the defacto rulers in vast areas..As they are the current rulers who are spreading tyranny, I am commenting upon that!

What I wrote was actually totally taken out of context..what I meant to say extremism is becoming the middle name of many religious groups.

My post was viewed differently by many here..some only choose to see the comparison of Sati and the Jihadist and at least thank god some choose to see the watermelon.
