India's 11+ achieved a remarkable victory by lifting the Cricket World Cup 2011 and regained the glory of 1983. India was thought to have a strong batting lineup and its bowling dept caused some doubts. India embarked on the campaign to do good in the tournament. The favourites or the strong contenders were SA, Oz and to some extent England, too. Each innings caused some sensation and some anxiety. In the process, there were upsets that could have caused every team to worry. It is the glory of the game. Suddenly Pakistan rose as a formidable team. India overpowered them. Pakistan creates problems all through the year, but not on this semi-final fixture. Along side SL was consistent and threatened our chances. Finally, India went into the final with a 50-50 though the boys were determined to do the best. More than 270 was not an impossible total considering the prowess of both the teams. The game raced and rested at times. The glorious chase started. Shewag was expected to blast, but failed. Sachin left. In tense moments the game proceeded and the boys inched towards the goal. Gambhir gave a patient knock but soon became impulsive to get out. Dhoni pacified him till he was 96 and after that Gambhir succeeded. Yuvraj joined and stayed till Dhoni hit that "helicopter" shot. The fight was over in the arena and revelry started all over the world. A moment to cherish and inspiration to upcoming multitudes of youth.
