Kanithan -A Tamil Thriller Review

I happened to see this movie yesterday starring Atharva, Catherine Tresa, Tarun Arora and bhagyaraj.

A racy film where the hero working in a TV channel aspiring to be in BBC ends up getting caught in fake certificate scandal when he gets falsely booked by the

police. He is a computer engineer who has drifted to media out of love for a media job. Tarun arora plays the villain who masterminds the fake degree racket with

connections in high places. Catherine tresa plays his love interest who is Tv channel owners daughter.

Very fast moving film with car chases, fights, something called modern music, half clad girls romping in swimming pools and dancing, boys in groups fighting it

out to show their masculinity.

But the root theme on how fake degrees are a menace and how these gangs are well organised where one can get any professional degree, caste certificates for

seat reservations is interesting.

It appear from the film that it is a real menace in india.

Songs, dances , exposure of women are just box office masala which could be excused.

The screen play and slick editing holds our interest from beginning to end . It is fast moving holding viewers interest for couple of hours.

A nice afternoon well spent. May not be senior citizens cup of tea. But you have to think young to enjoy it.

A film that is different with no stars.

Tamil cinema has changed for the better.
