Kuladeivam

Dear NKA Ji

There has been enough discussion/debate on this subject - on this Forum. Just dig through, a bit.

Kula Deivam in my opinion, is no whimsical tyrant nor punitive nor vengeful. It is just common tendency
to blame adversities and difficulties on some Vindictive Deity or some unfulfilled vows.

Nothing prevents you from worshiping your 'Ishta Devatha' - Deity of your choice.
Whether it is a Family Deity [Kula Devatha], or Ishta Devatha [ Deity of your Choice ] they are
all aspects of the same ULTIMATE ONE.

So, all sincere prayers will be answered and the redressal of your grievances, is assured.

Kuladeivam, or any other name for God never leaves any place. God is present at all time everywhere. We have great stories to prove it, please read Bhakt Prahalhad.

You may feel that you have lost touch with God, but you need to establish it again.
In Mr. AM's words:
Nothing prevents you from worshiping your 'Ishta Devatha' - Deity of your choice.

all aspects of the same ULTIMATE ONE.

What Should We Do If Kuladeivam got angry and went out of the house because of ancestor's wrong promise? What are the symptoms if kuladeivam is out of house? what should i do to bring kula deivam inside house? plz help me

Dear Sir,

Most important fact is you have realized that there has been some broken traditions and the worship of Kula Deivam has been discontinued for some reasons best known to you.

You can revive the system of praying to your Kula Deivam again.

Let the past be the past.

It is us who needs God and not the other way round.

Are you the eldest man in the home? If so I would perform ganapati homam to cleanse the structure then immediately with a sincere heart conduct shodasa upachara puja to the Kuladeivam. During the third offering (aasana) not only mean the image and shrine but rather the entire home and hearts of every family member for the perpetuity of your lineage. There is no sin of the father the son cannot help mend. To carry your families name is to carry their karma thus some would argue that this is your responsibility.

PS All that said I completely agree with sri prasad1 and renukaji! Remember, god doesn't NEED the puja however your family might need the reconnection to god and that is what the puja brings to the heart, body, and soul. Our outward devotion reinforces our inner commitments to ourselves, god, family, and community.

I am the elder one not the eldest. But when i tried many ways to discover the root cause of the problem... it was found that my ancestors have made a false promise infront of our Kula deivam. and since he has could not enter our house because of the false promise made... but as you have said if i rethink yes it is true that there has to be a reconnection made. but after several research i found out that my family god is out of my house. I felt the lack of protection to my house.

Can you list out even more symptoms?? and remedies

Shri Anand,

I have known of tabras who built a new temple in their village - for their convenience, installed a brand new stone idol of their kuladeivam in it and said, "from now onwards, this is our new Kula deivam." Nothing happened to them or their descendants and now the 7th. generation is getting on well as small kids.

It is therefore, my humble suggestion that you get this "Kula Deivam going out of house" problem from your mind, and restart worshipping at your Kuladeivam temple with your family (wife & kids) at least once in a year, or more frequently, if it is convenient.

If, however, there was the practice of worshipping your Kuladeivam in your own house— either as part of the daily pooja of idols or otherwise— then think of restarting it. There are some families of Tabras who hold "mADan" as their kuladeivam and also believe that the mADan resides behind their house (kollai, of the old agraharam houses). If yours is one such case, consult a good astrologer and find out the best place to instal a new mADan stone within your compound; if you stay in a Flat then you may find out at which mADan temple you may worship as your kuladeivam.

Through thaamboola prasnam we can try to find out some solution. Kindly buy approximately about 20 betels and show that to me in the skype.
one by one both sides. Is it convenient for you to appear in skype on the coming sunday morning by 7A.M.

Some say that certain things must not be revealed at the first instance. viz.
Mantram and Japam i.e. Those days, some people would not reveal the mantra that are being
chanted by them with a pure intention that the enemy should not know as they may try to
nutralise the Deity
Ayush - may tell approx. until one knows a person thoroughly
Arogyam- Used to say fine and not in depth
Aushadham - Similarly if somebody takes medicines of yesteryears they won't reveal the ingredients
at once and the method of preparation too unless one is known so close
Vitham - Some won't immediately tell the actual financial position of a family, except to say Sound or good.
Kula Deivam - This is not kept Secret amongst the family members. Therefore, ancestors will certainly
know it. One has to find out from the relatives.
