Definition of Hindu.

1)Himsa Durayati iti Hindu( one who stays away from violence)

2)Himsa Dushati iti Hindu(one who "contaminates" violence..in other words acts on exterminating violence to reinstate non violence)

3)Hindu as a geographical region ranging from Himalayas( Him) and Indu sagara of the south( Du)
Him+du ( apply sandhi rules) = Hindu.

To be a Hindu is one who has found a balance of non reactiveness called non violence and who strives to maintain this equilibrium within and without.
Hindu is a state of Being.
