NEW DELHI: In what could be a first, the Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the Kerala government to set up a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the sensational allegations of a Navy officer's estranged wife that her husband and his colleagues on INS Kochi indulged in wife-swapping and tortured her because of her refusal to join them. The SIT has been asked to complete the investigation within three months.

janaki, wife swapping is as old as human history :). welcome to the real world.

once upon a time, it was an 'in thing' in the elite families of chennai of the 50s and 60s. so i have been told by someone who claims he is in the know. i left india after that, but i am quite sure, it is still in vogue.

One famous Tamil Actress of 60s and 70s wrote an article about this in Chennai in a popular Tamil weekly magazine in the early 1970s.

Sex outside marriage is not taboo for elite classes.

This wife swapping is more talked about in certain circles,

I have not yet come across anyone who indulges in it,

But a lot talk about it.

extra marital affairs are more common.A bored wife of a busy executive getting into a relationship, or husband on tour

going for one night stands -one comes across males who boast about it.-do not shock or surprise anyone.

but wife swapping is still only in closed circles.

these things very common in armed forces...generally every one know these things....nobody reports outside....in army/navy.

Wife swapping - then will this vedic Niyoga could counter this trend? Or is this Kaliyugs ammended & accepted Niyoga - where Sex is for pleasure mainly and not for procreation only - when other means are available Test tube Artificial insemination - Surrogate etc

When this vedic practice was touched upon by Perumal Muruga in his book Madhorubhagan Hell broke out and he was hounded! - he vowed not to author any more book and proclaimed he was dead as an author!

In India the offence of adultery is punishable under Section 497 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860. As it stands, this Section makes only men having sexual intercourse with the wives of other men without the consent of their husbands punishable and women cannot be punished even as abettors. The Report of the Malimath Committee on Criminal Justice Reforms and the 42nd Report of the Law Commission of India recommended redefining Section 497 to make women also punishable for adultery. The Central Government accordingly has sought the views of all the 30 states in the country regarding the implementation of the said recommendations. This paper attempts to establish the redundancy of Section 497 in the light of Personal and Matrimonial laws and changing social conditions subsequently making a case against amending and for completely deleting Section 497 from the IPC.

Obvious - wife swapping is not adultery since this happens with the consent of the husband! I wonder if the lady is not willing when her husband consents will it not amount to rape? Let us wait for SCs verdict on this!

Wife swapping is bad becos the female cant make her own choice...she only has to choose the males in a particular circle that too recommended by her husband!LOL

Its better if one has her own affairs and chooses the mate of her choice in secrecy.

When it comes to affairs...it has to be a secret...only then the feeling of a Haram relationship gives the brain a serotonin boost...in cases of wife swapping...it is not a secret between husband and wife anymore..so where is the Kiccku?
 
A few days ago I bumped into an old friend of my dad..he was telling me that his son had been posted overseas and he adviced his Daughter In Law to resign her job and follow her husband becos he said if a man is staying alone he might have an affair..so he advised his DIL to resign and stay with her husband overseas.

I got kind of pissed off with him...I felt he was a typical sexist who felt that ONLY a male is capable of having an affair and totally underestimated the capability of a woman to have an affair...so I told him..."well...I think you gave the right advice..anyone staying alone whether man or woman over time would naturally seek a companion if spouse is absent too long...both males and females have the in built capacity to find love or lust again".

He fell silent!


Men should learn to acknowledge the sexuality of a woman and not think its only males who are capable of an affair...its downright insulting to womanhood!

Women like to be more circumspect and would not take high risks or initiative to have an affair.

Men are more foolhardy and would like to make time to have an affair in their otherwise packed work and home schedule.

They would like to challenge their male friends and boast about their conquests.

For men pleasure in girl hunting and gratification is just an urge . they do not think of future with any of those they chase.

somehow women think of long range prospects with anyone they think of having an affair.They invest in a relationship with cold blooded objectives. Trade with specific ends than just an impulsive act.

Men like to BELIEVE that women would not want to take high risk of affairs blah blah blah just to feed the male ego that males have the edge when it comes to sexual conquest.

We females know the mind of a female better.

Men boast and brag and cant shut their mouth..that is how their wives get to know about their husband's affairs.

Females on the other hand know how and when to get into an affair and usually choose a affair mate that can be manipulated without compromising her marriage and she shuts up well about it so she bakes her cake and eats it both!

Men imagine females are emotional creatures but we can be cold blooded reptiles.


Remember...a Male is only a criminal..its a Female who is a SMOOTH Criminal.

I was not implying an affair is a crime....I was just denoting that a female can outshine a male even in crime.
