Mother lighting lamp

My father passed away some time ago. My mother lives with me and wants to know if she can light a lamp in my home. Or is there a rule against lighting the lamp in a daughter’s married home?

I ask her not to worry but she is.
I am not an expert on rituals...but just sharing my thoughts.
A father has given us our body, our life, our upbringing and values.

Lighting a lamp for him is to honor his memory in our hearts.

Some might say a married daughter's gotra changes after marriage but honestly our DNA and the love we have in our hearts for parents doesnt change.

I am a married woman myself and daily 2x a day at dawn and dusk I recite a few mantras for my late fathers well being.

Your mothers well being also is important.
A lamp for your dad will brighten up her heart as she wont be worried.

regards.

You can and your mother can
If no other ladies in the home 🏠 house etc
Your mother can do it

None of us have authority over rituals. Then again all rituals are individual. No two people will have identical rituals.
So if your mother or you want to light a lamp in memory of someone, please do so. Be careful if it is an open fire.
On a different note make your home her home too. Living as a guest in your daughter's or anyone else's home is no fun.

Why do Hindus light a lamp?
