Moving into rental house - a doubt

I live in Coimbatore and am relocating to Chennai, in a rented house.

Is it necessary for me to be personally present for the "milk boiling ceremony", or is it ok for my relatives to do this in my absence? ( I ask this as I plan to move in only after on 1st June, and am not able to go to chennai only for this).

Also, is it ok to do this ceremony ahead of my arrival, or should this be done only when I finally move in?

Would love to have your views on this please.

your presence is not compulsary. your relatives can do it. it is o.k. to do this ceremony ahead of your arrival. it can be done before final movement.
